Intensive Plus Speaking Skills​The Intensive Plus Course is designed for students who wish to supplement their Intensive Course with extra conversation classes in small groups in the afternoons to improve fluency in English.It allows students to develop their language skills in the morning lessons and put these skills into practice in the afternoon group conversation classes. The smaller conversation classes help to facilitate meaningful discussion within the group. Teachers concentrate on vocabulary building and idiomatic language, leading to more natural English speech.The afternoon conversation classes are available at three levels, starting from pre-intermediate and cover a wide range of topics of discussion. A minimum language level of Pre-intermediate (A2) is required. This course is offered at the following levels: Pre-Intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper Intermediate (B2).

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The General English Afternoon course offered by Cork English Academy is a 15 hours per week module which runs Monday to Friday 13:45 to 17:00 with a 15 minutes break each day.The daily three hour lesson covers all of the English language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing with an emphasis on speaking and listening. The main focus of the General English 15 hour course is on communication skills in real life settings.Course books, workbooks and supplementary material including authentic materials such as newspaper articles newspapers, DVDs, the Internet, books and other media are utilized by the teacher to meet the language needs of all the individuals in the class.

This programme combines our General English tuition with a unique curriculum designed to develop your 21st Century Skills and prepare you for career success. The course develops the confidence and skills you need to express yourself powerfully and is ideal if you wish to enter the workforce or advance your career at home or abroad. General English is the centre of our teaching at British Study Centres and will improve your English communication skills in an engaging, interactive way. Using materials from National Geographic Learning and a coursebook that has been specifically designed for BSC, learn new vocabulary, understand English grammar and get support in the areas you need it the most. *Note: 25 lessons = 18.75 hrs

Description​General English programmes are suitable for everyone and provide a good foundation in the main linguistic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. With a strong focus on communication skills, these courses also provide a solid foundation in the key skills required in the Trinity College London ISE Examinations as well as Cambridge examinations.The method used is task-based, which means that by the end of each level students are expected to be able to complete a certain amount of tasks through English. There is a central course book and workbook and teachers supplement these using authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, menus, manuals, brochures and a range of other books.All courses incorporate the use of Digital Interactive Whiteboards, the Internet and audio-visual technology. AwardISI Certificate in English. The General English Course GE15 is a 15 hours per week module which runs Monday to Friday in the morning for three hours each day. This leaves you free for the remainder of the day to join the Social Activity Programme offered by Cork English Academy, study in our self access facilities or explore Cork and the surrounding areas.The daily three hour lesson covers all of the English language skills–speaking, listening, reading and writing with an emphasis on speaking and listening. The main focus of the General English 15 hour course is on communication skills in real life settings.
