English Courses

General English courses will improve a wide range of skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar.  Our qualified teachers use communicative teaching methods to provide energetic and fun lessons.

Our schools offer a comprehensive student support service along with and all lessons being made up of a wide range of activities helping you to become a confident communicator. Our team of teachers give you all the support you need throughout your course and use a wide range of materials in their lessons to help you develop all aspects of your English language. This is a structured course that suits all levels and is an ideal way to develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Please note: Entry Level CEFR A1-C2 (Elementary to Advanced). As well as covering the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening), grammar and vocabulary in a student centered and communicative setting, you will have the chance to develop both your fluency and accuracy through daily workshops designed to reinforce and the language you studied in the morning.
The minimum number to run a level is 5 students per class. 

Our General English 20 Lesson per Week programme is the perfect English Language course for students who want to combine studying with leisure. The group classes offer you the best value for money and the opportunity to benefit from interaction with other language learners from all over the world. Our maximum class size is 12, which ensures that you will have personal attention from your teacher. This course runs in the afternoons.

This is the perfect course for students who would like to complement their 20 core lessons with 10 specialised elective lessons. Intensive 30 will allow exploration of an extensive range of elective options as a well as building a solid foundation of language. Our Intensive 30 course covers the key language learning areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, using skills-based and situational learning combined with using one-to-one tutorials and regular progress tests to respond to the student’s individual learning needs.

ILSC offers a wide range of courses. You can take any combination you wish, depending on your interests, goals, language level and schedule. Most courses are offered at many different levels and last four weeks.

Flexible Programs At the end of the four-week session, your language level will be assessed and you can choose new courses and/or move up a level in your current course. English Foundation Learn core language skills to develop a solid English foundation. This course will prepare you for further study in many of ILSC’s study streams such as Communication, Humanities, Business, Test Preparation and Academic Preparation. Communication Improve your communication skills through dynamic group activities focusing mainly on speaking and listening. Interact with your classmates in different social circumstances; both real and role-played situations.

The GE Fluency Intensive 32 is one of our most intensive general English courses. It allows students to combine 20 lessons of general English in the mornings with 12 lessons of individual training in the afternoons. Before beginning their intensive English language course, students will complete a needs analysis and interview with our Academic Manager to design their individual afternoon program.

Description​General English programmes are suitable for everyone and provide a good foundation in the main linguistic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. With a strong focus on communication skills, these courses also provide a solid foundation in the key skills required in the Trinity College London ISE Examinations as well as Cambridge examinations.The method used is task-based, which means that by the end of each level students are expected to be able to complete a certain amount of tasks through English. There is a central course book and workbook and teachers supplement these using authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, menus, manuals, brochures and a range of other books.All courses incorporate the use of Digital Interactive Whiteboards, the Internet and audio-visual technology. AwardISI Certificate in English.
