English Courses

Private lessons will allow students to learn at their own speed and study the content of their choice.

Our Plus courses combine 20 lessons of General English in the mornings with 6 extra lessons in the afternoons. These afternoon classes are in smaller groups with a maximum of 10 students per class. This allows the teacher to give more attention to each student and focus on the specific areas of the English language that are of interest to the class.

If you’re hoping to develop your language skills in a short amount of time, our Platinum Courses are the ideal option for you. They are designed for busy professionals, executives and mature learners who hope to improve quickly. You can choose to study in specialised one-to-one sessions, where the lessons are tailor-made to meet your specific personal needs. It’s entirely up to you how many of these lessons you have per week and the teacher can, if you choose, focus on your specialised professional area. Alternatively, you can opt for small group sessions where classes will have a maximum of five students. Your lessons will take place in one of our dedicated Platinum Centres, which have comfortable modern classrooms and a Platinum Clubhouse for you to enjoy outside of class. On a Platinum course, you will have the opportunity to meet and network with other professionals from all over the world.

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The General English course at St Giles Cambridge is designed to benefit students who hope to communicate with confidence and ease in real-life situations. The main goal is to improve speaking and listening skills. Classes have a maximum of 12 students which allows teachers to provide each student with the personal attention they require. Classes will focus on improving students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, which will help them reach their full potential. This course runs in the mornings.

Description​General English programmes are suitable for everyone and provide a good foundation in the main linguistic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. With a strong focus on communication skills, these courses also provide a solid foundation in the key skills required in the Trinity College London ISE Examinations as well as Cambridge examinations.The method used is task-based, which means that by the end of each level students are expected to be able to complete a certain amount of tasks through English. There is a central course book and workbook and teachers supplement these using authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, menus, manuals, brochures and a range of other books.All courses incorporate the use of Digital Interactive Whiteboards, the Internet and audio-visual technology. AwardISI Certificate in English. This course allows you to study both English and French in unique surroundings, and with exceptional flexibility.Our timetable is double banking.
