Interview with Taona Knights, Academic Director of EC Vancouver: “Studying abroad shows how to apply learned knowledge in the classroom to real life”

KNIGHTS OF TAONA, ACADEMIC DIRECTOR, EC VANCOUVER

Why would a student choose their school?

We take the well-being and progress of our students seriously and make an additional effort to ensure they have the most productive and enjoyable experience possible while learning at our school.

In your opinion, what are the main benefits for a student to study abroad?

I believe that coming to study on board offers the opportunity to truly experience learning a language in context and shows students how to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to real life. I also think it does wonders for students’ confidence as they get to experience new cultures, food and ming up with other international students.

How do you see the future of language tourism?

I think language tourism is here to stay and will remain similar to its current form as it is really the best way to learn a language. However, I predict that we may see more virtual learning first and publish the actual journey to make the most of the learning experience.

What types of courses do you think will be the most sought after in the future?

In my opinion, we will see an increase in measurement tools, such as exams and courses that validate a student’s specific level. I think this will be the case because students will want to show that they have improved their language skills and have tangible results from their experience.
