Our General English Language courses aim to improve every aspect of your English so that you can communicate effectively with speakers from across the globe. Our approach is to provide a stimulating and highly interactive environment in which you can develop your language skills. Lesson content concentrates on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Every week you will work on developing and improving all language skill areas, with a focus on active communication in real life situations. You will also be given regular homework and weekly tests to check your progress. The 3 daily classes of 60 minutes will take place in the time slots detailed below. The exact schedule is assigned on the first day of class, according to your level. This course is available in the afternoons from 14:00 hs to 17:15 hs.

The Intensive General English Course is suitable for students who want to maximize on work carried out in the Standard Course. All morning courses are based on our CES Curriculum Framework Document which has common CEF learning objectives for each level. In addition, each course is supported by a published EFL course book and its syllabus. Teachers complement this syllabus. Students will work on improving the English language skills involved with speaking, listening, reading, and writing so that they can improve their comprehension and communicate more freely. This course also has extra lessons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as a way to improve faster your learning curve.

We believe that all learners choose to study the English language for a purpose and our English courses are designed with a sense of that purpose; personal, social, professional, and academic. We also emphasize the importance of learner autonomy, and our courses invite the learner to take responsibility for their progress and help them to develop their learning skills and the ability to develop themselves. The Intensive English language course syllabus is based on the need for accuracy in spoken English. The Intensive course is 26 hours per week, and includes the General English program (20 hours) and a further 6 hours per week taken over two afternoons with a focus on discourse structure and oral fluency. During the afternoon sessions, students may request areas of improvement in negotiation with the teacher and other students.

The General English language course at ATC Dublin has 20 hours per week and is designed to improve the student's understanding of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students may begin each Monday on a continuous enrollment system. All levels from elementary to advanced are catered for throughout the year. By the end of the course, students will see an overall improvement in their standard of English language and improved confidence in their language ability.

This English language course gives you the opportunity of living and learn more about the culture and social life of both England and Ireland. Students have the opportunity to really further their English language knowledge, by learning over a greater length of time. This course has 20 lessons per week and if long-term students have the appropriate level, they are welcome to move to our IELTS/Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses or general English with Business English! You can divide your stay as you wish and you can start your course in either England or Ireland - we leave the choice to you. We do recommend that all students who require a visa start their Multi-Destination course in the UK.
