This English course allows Non-EU students to progress through at least two levels over an 8-month period and gain a professional, internationally-recognized English qualification. This English Academic Year can serve as a good foundation in the main linguistic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, with a strong focus on communication. This course has 15 per week and runs in the afternoons!!!

This programme allows Non-EU students to progress through at least two levels over an 8-month period and gain a professional, internationally-recognised English qualification. Students on this programme can work 20 hours per week during the 6-month study period, and 40 hours per week during the 2 month holiday.
Award
All students who successfully complete the programme receive the ISI Certificate in English. Non-EU students must complete an official examination at the end
of the programme such as Trinity ISE, FCE, CAE and IELTS.
Entry requirements
Students should be at least 18 years old on the course start date.
Students on Academic Year Academic Year 15 (AY15) programmes are integrated with the General English classes. This creates an international mix of students, each doing courses of different durations. With a full 25-week programme, Academic Year students can expect to progress through at
least two levels during their course before completing their final exit examination. Our morning classes offer a greater international mix of students, while the
discounted afternoon classes tend to have fewer nationalities.

Cambridge Examination CoursesOur Cambridge Examination Courses (FCE-First Certificate in English & CAE-Certificate in Advanced English) are taught by expert teachers who have a proven success record in preparing students for the First Certificate and Advanced Examinations. These courses concentrate on developing key examination techniques across all the language skills.

Introduction to CLIL: Theory & Practice (with Language Development option)This course is for teachers who are new to, or have recently begun teaching CLIL. It is a practical introduction o the CLIL approach for all secondary teachers and primary teachers of pupils aged 10+. The course combines lectures and practical workshops and it presents the key concepts in CLIL, using a selection of practical activities for various subjects at late primary and secondary level. The course is available as a one week intensive CLIL only option, or as a two week CLIL & Language Development option. A minimum English language level of CEFR B2 is required for CLIL programmes.

This course is intended for non-native teachers of other subjects who wish to develop their own English language skills. It is specifically aimed at teachers of other subjects, who have to teach their subjects through English.

Our five month English Academic Semester course aims to get you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation. Immerse yourself in the English language and spend a semester studying, getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially produced study materials.

Description​General English programmes are suitable for everyone and provide a good foundation in the main linguistic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The work placement programme is aimed at EU passport holders who wish to combine English language study with paid work in Ireland. Depending on students’ language level on completion of a pre-arrival Skype interview, they will be advised as to the correct length of study required prior to the start of their paid employment.
