Description​General English programmes are suitable for everyone and provide a good foundation in the main linguistic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. With a strong focus on communication skills, these courses also provide a solid foundation in the key skills required in the Trinity College London ISE Examinations as well as Cambridge examinations.The method used is task-based, which means that by the end of each level students are expected to be able to complete a certain amount of tasks through English. There is a central course book and workbook and teachers supplement these using authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, menus, manuals, brochures and a range of other books.All courses incorporate the use of Digital Interactive Whiteboards, the Internet and audio-visual technology. AwardISI Certificate in English. The classes focus on improving your accuracy, fluency, and confidence in the English language. With a focus on real-life grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation you will be better able to communicate successfully with people from all over the world. This course runs in the afternoon.

The Methodology and Language Development course in Dublin combines the latest in best practice in general pedagogy with the utilisation of practical online tools for education. It will give participants both a refresher in the areas of lesson planning, classroom management, and content knowledge, as well as introducing some innovations in practice which can be integrated the current context. This course is designed for teachers who are looking to upskill in a number of areas. Teachers who are looking for a revision of best practice, or who are looking for some new ideas in traditional settings will gain from this course, as will teachers who are looking at learning more about the use of technology both in and outside the classroom.

CES is delighted to announce for 2018 new university pathway pre-sessional English language programme in cooperation with NCUK. Students will study at CES for 3, 6 or 9 months to raise their IELTS score to the level required to join our partner delivering the Northern Consortium Foundation Programme (NCUK).This will provide guaranteed access to OVER 300 University courses in universities in the UK and Ireland (subject to achieving correct IELTS and foundation results). The programme will provide expert preparation for the IELTS exam as well as giving students the academic study skills required to succeed in the further and higher education environment.

IELTS Examination CourseIELTS is the International English Language Testing System which tests English proficiency across the globe. The IELTS Examination Course focuses on developing key techniques and strategies for the IELTS Examination. Participants complete regular practice tests and are taught how to approach all the sections of the test effectively. Our Academic Team are available to assist with the application process for the IELTS Examination.IELTS examination preparation courses will run year-round subject to a minimum number of participants, starting from Target Score 5.0 (subject to an entrance test). The examination fee is not included in the course fees.

Our CLIL course is intended for non-native teachers of other subjects who wish to develop their own English language skills and examine the methodology of CLIL - Content and Language Integrated Learning. This course provides opportunities for teachers to discuss and share ideas with colleagues from Europe and beyond.

The General English course and IELTS Preparation Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course. There are three afternoons a week of IELTS preparation lessons. This course focuses on improving students’ English, as well as on developing their exam techniques. At the end of each week, students will be given a progress test. They will also have the opportunity to sit an IELTS exam during the last week of the course (exam must be booked separately.) If the student is planning to take the IELTS exam while studying with CES, they should contact our Examinations Office on [email protected] for help with registration online.
