English Courses

Within the Intensive English course, students follow the General English Course and have a further 2 sessions per day of 45 minutes each. They are given the opportunity to consolidate their General English studies and have further options to cover new ground.

Designed especially for mature learners, this English language +30 Core Intensive course, focuses on speaking and listening, and expressing yourself on day-to-day topics. The programme is very flexible and consists of core morning classes, which all students have, and then optional afternoon electives so you can choose the course that best suits you, your language needs and your personal preferences. In this case, you'll have afternoon classes of 10 hours per week – Friday afternoon free, as it's an extension from the morning classes.

You will join multi-national language classes following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains and competencies appropriate to your level of ability with additional work on fluency and pronunciation. Objectives: This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context. You will improve their language skills and consider factors affecting inter-cultural communication with special emphasis on fluent spoken English and pronunciation, giving you the opportunity to establish relationships and share points of view with international colleagues.

Our five month English Academic Semester course aims to get you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation. Immerse yourself in the English language and spend a semester studying, getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially produced study materials.

This course will give you the confidence and skills to communicate in everyday English. It is designed to develop and improve English language skills such as speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Classes are graded from beginner to advanced levels, meaning you can comfortably build on your English language knowledge starting from functional English right through to more academic English. Our world-class trainers are dedicated to your success and course delivery is fun, modern, active, and challenging. Your classroom learning is complimented with weekly activities and excursions especially designed to take your learning into real-world environments.

This intensive General English language course is made up of 30 lessons per week/22.5 hours per week that combine language learning with a special focus on developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. This is best for students who want to study full-time i.e. Monday – Friday (Morning & Afternoon classes)

The Standard General English Course takes place all year round. Lessons are held every morning, from Monday to Friday (09.30 – 13.00 in the UK). Students will work on improving the skills involved with speaking, listening, reading and writing, so that they can improve their comprehension and communicate more freely. They will work on their linguistic knowledge, increasing their vocabulary and deepening their understanding of the grammar and structure of the language. Courses at CES are communicative and task-based, using the most up to date technology and authentic materials. Students are then free in the afternoons to join our exciting social programme, use the self-access facilities, or to explore the rich history and culture of Ireland and the UK.

Our General English program is designed to help you improve your overall ability in English, in all of the main skill areas. In the morning, you practice speaking, listening, reading and writing in an environment focused on communication. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced user of English, our curriculum is designed to get you talking and using real, natural English. Pronunciation and correction of errors are key components of every course.In the afternoon you may add an elective class to create an Intensive program of study. Weekly tests and month-end skill evaluations ensure that you are guided through the levels towards your ultimate goal of fluency.

The afternoon General English language course is a less grammar intensive, diverse range of classes allowing specialisation in a variety of elective English subjects. Through the use of elective lessons, our afternoon course allows students to focus their language learning on specific skills they'd like to improve.

Our General English language courses are designed to improve your English language skills and give you more professional and academic options in the future. As well as taking lessons, you will have plenty of time to sight-see and explore your destination. The course is semi-intensive, and is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced, with classes made up of different levels. The focus is on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking, and all our schools offer extensive and varied activities programs to help you make the most of your destination.
