The Study Year Programme offers a comprehensive and flexible English language programme to help you prepare for your future and gain internationally recognised exam qualifications. It is designed specifically for long-term students who will study English in England for 6 months or more. This programme allows you to follow a wide range of ELC Eastbourne courses, including General English, Cambridge English exams (FCE & CAE), IELTS and Introduction to Business English.

Our Intensive English program offers a fast, enjoyable and effective way to improve your English language skills, whatever your current language level. You have the opportunity to customize your course with specific skills lessons, including Business Intensive and exam preparation. The course allows you to quickly achieve English fluency and learn grammar and vocabulary that will be useful in every day English. You can study for as long as you need to, and by doing so will improve your opportunities in future academic and professional endeavours.

The Diploma of Intensive English course allows you to immerse yourself in English for up to 48 weeks and you’ll learn, live and think like a native English speaker. You will have a personalised study plan, regular progress tutorials, and regular language level tests. The course combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours). In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. Example options include — Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge); Business English; Group Discussion; Art and Design; Speech and Pronunciation; Academic Writing Skills; etc. The Diploma of Intensive English course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

The full-time General English course morning classes have a grammar focus and we loosely follow the syllabus of the course book. We try to give you what you can’t do easily in your own country: lots of focus on speaking and listening. While learning the grammar and vocabulary of the topic, you’ll get reading and writing practice. Focus on speaking, listening, and everyday English in the afternoons, when you’ll practise English for everyday situations and use your listening, reading, writing and speaking skills to explore a range of interesting themes. The afternoon is a chance for you to immerse yourself in real-world English.

This course gives you the opportunity of living and learning more about the culture and social life of both England and Ireland. Our special long term rates are only available to CES agents. Bookings must be a minimum of 24 weeks to avail of these rates. Students have the opportunity to really further their English language, by learning over a greater length of time. If long term students have the appropriate level, they are welcome to move to our IELTS/Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses or General English with Business English! You can divide your stay as you wish and you can start your course in either England or Ireland - we leave the choice to you. We do recommend that all students who require a visa start their Multi-Destination course in the UK.

We offer General English language courses for all levels, from beginner to proficiency. We also offer timetables that give you the flexibility to choose a course that best suits your needs from 1-36+ weeks. We believe that you will learn faster and more effectively if your lessons are engaging, fun and relevant, that’s why our teachers use a range of techniques and develop classes that are motivating and build your confidence. This will allow time to focus on any areas of weakness. Any weekly programme is influenced not only by the course book syllabus but also by the learning goals and interests of the students in any one group.

In this Intensive General English language course, students join multi-national language classes following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains and competencies appropriate to their level of ability. Objectives: This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context and to make maximum language gains during their time with us. Students will improve their language skills and consider factors affecting inter-cultural communication. Participants will also have the opportunity to establish relationships and share points of view with international colleagues.

This General English language course is composed of: 10 lessons per week; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; 15 Students maximum per class. Course length: 1-50 weeks. Hours per week: 8 hours 20 minutes. Ages 16+. This course is suitable for students who wish to improve their fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation in a language. There is an emphasis on language for everyday situations and classes may involve discussing topics such as film and theatre, current events, politics, local culture and the internet.

The General English + One-to-One course is designed to give you a mix of group classes and 1:1 lessons where you can focus on your specific language needs. You study on the core morning programme of the General English course in a mixed-national class at your level for 20 lessons per week. You can then study 5 individual lessons per week with a teacher who will design a study programme based your specific needs.

We continue to check your progress with regular meetings to make sure you achieve your aims.
