This General English language course has 20 Lessons per week (4 lessons per day); 1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 16 hours 40 minutes; 15 students max. per class: Age 16+. During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book and a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines. The Academic Year Programmes are designed for long-term English language training and are ideal if you plan to study English for 6 months or more. They provide excellent value for money and a flexible approach to your studies. You can choose from any of our standard or intensive course provided you meet the entry requirements. This course is perfect for those who want to study at a UK university or develop their business careers.

The 25+ Course is designed to make the best use of a short period of study. We aim to improve students' confidence and accuracy when they speak English. The course includes: English language work with a focus on Spoken English and conversation skills. Lessons are designed to develop confidence in using English in both social and professional situations. An adult environment in a building dedicated to our mature students over the age of 25. Social events and excursion possibilities to help students make the most of their short stay in Chester. Students will complete a questionnaire prior to their course and our staff will design the course programme to reflect their needs. With our small classes, learning is highly effective and personalised.

The Diploma of Intensive English course allows you to immerse yourself in English for up to 48 weeks and you’ll learn, live and think like a native English speaker. You will have a personalised study plan, regular progress tutorials, and regular language level tests. The course combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours). In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. Example options include — Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge); Business English; Group Discussion; Art and Design; Speech and Pronunciation; Academic Writing Skills; etc. The Diploma of Intensive English course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

Plus Six is a 6 hour per week, part time course which focuses on the use of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in a communicative way. The syllabus is created by the teachers and offers dynamic and interactive lessons each week.

Our five month English Academic Semester course aims to get you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation. Immerse yourself in the English language and spend a semester studying, getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially produced study materials.

The General English + One-to-One course is designed to give you a mix of group classes and 1:1 lessons where you can focus on your specific language needs. You study on the core morning programme of the General English course in a mixed-national class at your level for 20 lessons per week. You can then choose to study 10 individual lessons per week with a teacher who will design a study programme based your specific needs.

Improve all areas of your general English with our English 15 language course. You will focus on English for real-life situations using speaking, reading, writing and listening. Your class will have students at the same English level as you and the teacher will base lessons around the needs of the group. Group work will be balanced with individual support and encouragement from your teacher.

We also offer timetables that give you the flexibility to choose a course that best suits your needs from 1-36+ weeks. Our Semi-Intensive English course is a semi-intensive programme that allows you to balance classroom tuition with structured study and free time activities. You will improve your English language ability at a speed you feel comfortable with, while having time to enjoy your destination. This course is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced and you will be placed in a class which is suitable for your level. The course focuses on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions and strategies.
