Students will learn all the essentials of the English language through a task-based methodology with this General English language course. While the communicative approach is central, we also consider the individual learning style of our students to ensure they achieve the best possible learning outcomes. All four English language skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking, are given the appropriate class time through our tailored academic syllabus.

In BWS Germanlingua we have special classes for students who need the German language to work as a musician or study music-related programs in Germany. During these lessons, we focus on the needs of the participants and communicate special vocabulary and language skills for their work and studies.

Studying a General English Language Course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. General English Part-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 15 hours per week We understand that every english student comes to Australia with unique goals, plans and learning needs. Lexis 360° is our student care program designed to ensure that all Lexis students receive individual support and attention, initiating the most successful study experience possible.

The course is semi-intensive, and is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced, with classes made up of different levels. The focus is on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking, and all our schools offer extensive and varied activities programs to help you make the most of your destination.

Our General English courses are ideal if you use English for everyday purposes.  The semi-intensive course will teach you English vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation together with the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. In the afternoons you will take skill-based elective classes to allow you to focus on the English skills you most want to improve.

The Intensive Course is our most popular choice. It combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours).In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. Example options include — Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge); Business English; Group Discussion; Art and Design; Speech and Pronunciation; Academic Writing Skills; etc.The Intensive Course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

General English Language Afternoon Courses at Lexis English offer students the flexibility of combining their English language education with a large range of options classes – personalising each student’s course to suit their academic needs. For students wanting to brush up their English skills for travelling, employment or to work towards a placement in one of our academic programs or Certificate or Diploma courses, our General English course is designed to get results. The Standard French Language course consists of 20 lessons per week of group instruction. Teachers focus on an interactive teaching method with the goals of expanding the students' vocabulary and knowledge of French culture and civilization; broadening his or her familiarity with grammar and its structures, as well as written expression of the French language; improving oral expression through group discussions, reading comprehension through the analysis and discussion of authentic documents and listening comprehension. Note that during the summer high season, some Intensive and Standard courses are only available in the afternoon.
