Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. This course has 25 hours of English classes per week.

The evening Italian language course is for people studying or working in Florence and for this reason prefer studying Italian during the evening. The study of the language is organized around the needs of daily life, work and family. The lessons combine grammar and communication in order to reach a sound knowledge of the Italian language needed to solve the problems you face during the day. The Evening Italian Language course includes many hours of extra activities all of them accompanied by one of our teachers. The days in which the course is held are different, depending on the level of the course.

General English is the centre of our teaching at British Study Centres and will improve your English communication skills in an engaging, interactive way. Using materials from National Geographic Learning and a coursebook that has been specifically designed for BSC, learn new vocabulary, understand English grammar and get support in the areas you need it the most.

Our General English 20 Lesson per Week programme is the perfect English Language course for students who want to combine studying with leisure. The group classes offer you the best value for money and the opportunity to benefit from interaction with other English language learners from all over the world. Our maximum class size is 12, which ensures that you will have personal attention from your teacher. This course runs in the mornings.

The General English Program (GEP) teaches English communicatively. Students learn through interaction in English, and by performing action-oriented tasks. Their improvement is tracked weekly, so each student can progress at their own rate, from beginner to advanced! Just decide how long you would like to study English, as well as how many English lessons you would like to take a week — 16, 20 or 25 lessons, and we will take care of the rest! Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 12:00 OR 13:20 – 17:00. Schedule will we determined by the class levels.

Course content: Group classes are usually in the morning. In these sessions you will develop your general English language skills, focusing on listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as grammar and vocabulary. Key areas include:Active speaking. Listening to a range of different materials. Practical grammar. Expanding vocabulary. Better communication strategies. Confident and fluent reading. Better writing skills. Discussions and role-plays. Pronunciation. Individual training sessions are usually in the afternoon. These sessions are tailored to your needs and can focus on any particular area of study that you wish.

Our General English language course aims to improve your ability to use English by developing your core language skills – speaking, listening, writing and reading. We aim to help increase your overall general knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary, developing your skills for international communication. This intensive course has 20 hours per week of classes.

As well as covering the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening), grammar and vocabulary in a student centered and communicative setting, you will have the chance to develop both your fluency and accuracy through daily workshops designed to reinforce and the language you studied in the morning.
The minimum number to run a level is 5 students per class.
