This course will give you the confidence and skills to communicate in everyday English. It is designed to develop and improve English language skills such as speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Classes are graded from beginner to advanced levels, meaning you can comfortably build on your English language knowledge starting from functional English right through to more academic English. The General English Language evening program develops students’ English language communication skills. There is a strong focus on building confidence and fluency. Furthermore there are opportunities to learn these skills in a variety of ‘real life’ situations. Discover English, Melbourne offers six levels of General English from Beginner to Advanced. Our Beginner level class accepts students with very little exposure to English. For example, students who have not yet acquired a single word. No one’s level is too low. In contrast, our Advanced General English class is for students with high level communicative skills. Students can attend additional 10 hrs of free classes - 5 hrs of supervised library with a teacher and 5 hrs of extras - different electives each day.

General English Language Afternoon Courses at Lexis English offer students the flexibility of combining their English language education with a large range of options classes – personalising each student’s course to suit their academic needs. For students wanting to brush up their English skills for travelling, employment or to work towards a placement in one of our academic programs or Certificate or Diploma courses, our General English course is designed to get results. We understand that every english student comes to Australia with unique goals, plans and learning needs. Lexis 360° is our student care program designed to ensure that all Lexis students receive individual support and attention, initiating the most successful study experience possible. General English Full-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 20 hours per week with an additional 5 hours per week of Guided Individual Learning (GIL).

The Intensive English Language Course consists of 15 weekly lessons focused solely on general English. These are lessons focused on developing reading, writing, oral and listening comprehension and conversation. You will have three hours a day of class, each lesson is 60 minutes, with the estimated timetable being from 9:00 to 12:25, Monday to Friday.
