This Semi Intensive General English Language course is ideal for students who want to combine study and sightseeing. Students take the major course (Monday to Thursday) only. This is not available to student visa holders. The General English course focuses on improving your all-round English and in particular your communication skills. Our focus is on students interacting and communicating with each other and getting you to use the language you learn to make you more fluent and confident in English.

The General English Language program develops students’ English language communication skills. There is a strong focus on building confidence and fluency. Above all, in a friendly and fun environment! Through a communicative approach, students practice their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Furthermore there are opportunities to learn these skills in a variety of ‘real life’ situations. Discover English, Melbourne offers six levels of General English from Beginner to Advanced. Our Beginner level class accepts students with very little exposure to English. For example, students who have not yet acquired a single word. No one’s level is too low. In contrast, our Advanced General English class is for students with high level communicative skills. Students can attend additional 10 hrs of free classes - 5 hrs of supervised library with a teacher and 5 hrs of extras - different electives each day.
