English Courses

The exam preparation courses are designed to help you achieve the result needed in your chosen language exam. These official language exams are used as a proof of language proficiency for immigration purposes, university admissions, or for employment. In this course you will learn and develop test-taking strategies and skills.

The General English and IELTS Preparation Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course.  There are three afternoons a week of IELTS preparation lessons.This course focuses on improving students’ English, as well as on developing their exam techniques. At the end of each week, students will be given a progress test.  They will also have the opportunity to sit an IELTS exam during the last week of the course (exam must be booked separately.).  If the student is planning to take the IELTS exam while studying with CES, they should contact our Examinations Office [email protected] for help with registration online.

The Super Intensive IELTS course is aimed at students who want to concentrate 100% on IELTS exam preparation. It will prepare you thoroughly for taking the exam in as short a time as possible. All lessons will be taught by specialist teachers with extensive experience of preparing students for the IELTS exam.Course format = 32 lessons per week (24 hours) focusing on IELTS exam preparation, skills, and practice sessionsAll students have the option of taking the IELTS exam at the Kings Oxford IELTS test centre on the Saturday after the course is finished. The exam fee is not included in the price and will need to be booked separately. Note: the Super Intensive IELTS course is intended for the Academic Module only. These courses consist of 20 lessons of exam preparation each week. They are taught by experienced teachers and, in addition to improving your ability to communicate more fluently and accurately, include a focus on the best techniques to use to help you get the best result in each paper.

IELTS is an increasingly popular exam taken by students who plan to study at university in the UK and other English speaking countries, either for a first degree or a Master's. We offer a bespoke course which helps you prepare for the exam.A combination of 15 lessons of specialist IELTS preparation and 5 lessons of Speaking & Listening. For an intensive course, add 5 or 10 extra lessons per week of afternoon options.

These courses are designed to prepare you for the IELTS academic English exams, with focused training in exam strategies and techniques to allow you to maximise your potential and achieve the grade you need.  The semi intensive course is combined with English for Academic Purpose two afternoons a week.
