Our English Teaching Methodology course is designed for non-native teachers of English who want to improve or refresh their skills. The course covers a broad range of EFL topics and the most recent developments in English language teaching. Topics typically include: Methods and Approaches Motivation Functions and Meaning Materials Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening Teaching Roles Grammar Lexis Checking Understanding Phonology Computers in EFL Teaching Beginners Learner Strategies Personal Development. English Teaching Methodology is available to Groups only. A teaching qualification is required to enrol on this course.

Our Business Supplementary courses are designed to build your English language skills to communicate effectively in business contexts, improving your employability and job prospects in your home country. This course combines improving your general English ability with taking focused lessons on business skills. Practice workplace communication techniques in English, learn how to participate in meetings and interviews, and acquire business writing skills. You can combine English courses with specialized business lessons of your choice, or with our Practical Business Intensive service in the U. S.

Our English Academic Year courses are nine month English courses that aim to take you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Year course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation. Immerse yourself in the English language, and spend a year studying and getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially designed study materials.

The exam preparation courses are design to help you achieve the result needed in your chosen language exam. These official language exams are used as a proof of language proficiency for immigration purposes, university admissions, or for employment. In this course you will learn and develop test-taking strategies and skills.

Evening classes are ideal for students who want to maintain their English without committing to a full-time course. We provide a welcoming environment to make learning in the evening a pleasure. Regular organised get-togethers with LILA’s international and English speaking students enable you to activate your newly acquired language skills.

Our General English and IELTS course is a 21 hour per week, intensive full time course. It is a combination of General English and IELTS Exam Preparation. General English will aim to give you the confidence in communicating in an English speaking environment and you’ll focus on the skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing whilst covering essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, phrases, and formal and informal language. The IELTS part of the course will focus on academic reading and writing whilst also honing your speaking and listening skills. The class covers all modules of the IELTS exam and students will also get the chance to see a past exam paper. You will encounter a wide range of strategies to give you the best possible opportunity to achieve your desired grade.Note: Timetable depends on your level of English and the availability.
