On the General English 20 Course, you attend a core of 20 lessons per week (15 hours), which will give you a practical understanding of the English language and take you all the way to fluency. Your confidence will improve as we train you in all four communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Your class will have students at the same English level as you and the teacher will base lessons around the needs of the group. This semi-intensive General English language course is made up of 25 lessons per week/18.7 hours per week that combine language learning with a special focus on developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. This is best for students who want a combination of morning and mid-day classes.

Our General English language courses are our most popular kind of course. They will improve your overall English language ability. We focus on all the key areas, such as speaking, reading, writing and listening. After you finish a course, you will be given a report and certificate. This semi-intensive General English language course combines accuracy with fluency. In the mornings, students will increase their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. In the afternoons, there are classes focused on improving communication skills. This style of teaching allows students learn the rules of English and then put them into practice straight away.

The Intensive General English Course is suitable for students who want to maximise on work carried out in the Standard Course. This course takes place all year round. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course from Monday to Friday (09.30 -13.00). There are also three afternoon lessons a week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (14.00 -16.30 in the UK) which are focused on improving the students’ speaking skills and ability to communicate through English. In the afternoon lessons, students have the opportunity to improve their communicative proficiency through discussions, topical debates, authentic materials and use of portable and static technology. Course content is partly negotiated and partly based on TED lectures.

This English language course is designed for learners aged 40+ who wish to combine studying English with spending time exploring the city of London and British culture. Lessons take place in the morning, with excursions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and one full day excursion on Saturday. Tuition takes place over 26 lessons, 20 of these take place in the classroom and 6 take place in different locations around London. The total number of hours is 21 hours and 40 minutes.

With this General English Plus language course you will join multi-national language classes following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains and competencies appropriate to your level of ability with additional work on fluency and pronunciation. Objectives: This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context. You will improve their language skills and consider factors affecting inter-cultural communication with special emphasis on fluent spoken English and pronunciation, giving you the opportunity to establish relationships and share points of view with international colleagues.
