In this class, a wide variety of reading texts are studied in detail. The diversity in content exposes students to a broad range of vocabulary and grammar, as well as literary forms. Students practice reading comprehension and analyze relationships between words as they practice using new vocabulary in different contexts. UNIVERSITY & COLLEGE PATHWAYSAfter completion of the EAP pathway program students can enter several Canadian universities. Students do not have to write the TOEFL or IELTS exams.Conditional AdmissionStudents who have completed our University Pathway Program will meet the English language proficiency requirements; however, students must apply separately with all supporting academic documents for entry into our partnered universities. Canadian College of English Language staff will assist with this process. Some of our pathway partners accept students at lower levels–please ask one of our experts for details.English Level RequirementTo be accepted into ENGL140, students must pass ENGL125 or score 60% on our ENGL130 exam. Students with an IELTS of 5.5 are also permitted. In order to take ENGL145, students must successfully complete ENGL140.
