Language skills addressed include: listening comprehension, fluency development, oral intelligibility, reading, grammar, writing, and vocabulary development for University levels.

This is a great option for students who want to develop English skills for employment and practical business situations.Topics include negotiating, networking, managing meetings, interviewing, and socializing in a business environment. Students learn how to write effective business memos, letters, e-mails, informal and formal reports and presentation materials.Students also gain the ability to give effective presentations and develop the skills necessary to pass the Cambridge Business English Examination (BEC), which is internationally recognized and tests the skills for using English in the workplace.ILAC accepts students every Monday, however, students are strongly encouraged to begin on Main Start Dates. In this course you will learn and develop test-taking strategies and skills.

Improve your English and take college credit courses! This course is ideal if you are interested in art and media and want to try out a few courses orif you want to study more than just English while you are in Vancouver. If you are on a gap semester from your university or college in your home country, this 23- week program gives you great study abroad experience. After you improve your English, you select a specific applied arts area to take 3 courses (12credits). When you take your college courses, you will be in classes with regular fulltime college students. The Academic English course at LAB Vancouver is designed to focus on:+ Grammar Structures+ Academic Vocabulary Building+ Reading Comprehension+ Writing SkillsThis course allows students to improve their reading skills and grammar accuracy in both spoken and written English. In this class, a wide variety of reading texts are studied in detail. The diversity in content exposes students to a broad range of vocabulary and grammar, as well as literary forms. Students practice reading comprehension and analyze relationships between words as they practice using new vocabulary in different contexts.
