Our five month English Academic Semester course aims to get you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation.Immerse yourself in the English language and spend a semester studying, getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially produced study materials.

St Giles Eastbourne offers International Semester Languages Courses to students wishing to experience British life and study General English for 6 months or longer. Additional modules also available at St Giles Eastbourne are: Cambridge English or IELTS exam preparation, English for Business, and English for University Studies

This General English language course is for you if you want to improve all four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking and meet adult students (18 years+) of different ages and nationalities, getting to know them and our culture in the vibrant community of Totnes.

With this General English language course you'll improve your all-round English ability and increase confidence in your day-to-day use of the language. Our General English courses are designed to meet the needs of learners in a variety of English-language settings and aim to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. In classes with a maximum of just 10 students, you will follow an integrated skills programme that covers the areas of reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. With this option, you can add different midday options to our General English courses such as one of our Exam Preparation or Business English classes to create a course that suits your individual needs and interests.

This course gives you the opportunity of living and learning more about the culture and social life of both England and Ireland. Our special long term rates are only available to CES agents. Bookings must be a minimum of 24 weeks to avail of these rates. Students have the opportunity to really further their English language, by learning over a greater length of time. If long term students have the appropriate level, they are welcome to move to our IELTS/Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses or General English with Business English! You can divide your stay as you wish and you can start your course in either England or Ireland - we leave the choice to you. We do recommend that all students who require a visa start their Multi-Destination course in the UK.

Our Intensive General English language courses have been developed over many years of teaching experience. Innovative and communicative teaching methods are used and form the basis of our teaching. Our General English Programme offers a choice of courses for everyone who needs an improved level of English for academic, social or professional reasons. This specific General English course has 30 lessons per week: 20 lessons of structured English language tuition and practice; Plus 5 lessons of language extension activities to develop your vocabulary, listening comprehension and oral fluency: Plus 5 lessons to Develop general communication skills with the English for Success Programme: - English Skills for UK Life - Speaking and Listening for Success - Writing and Reading for Success

During the General English language lessons, you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You will use a textbook and a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines. For courses longer than 24 weeks, please refer to the International School Year courses. 20 Lessons per week (4 lessons per day);1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 16 hours 40 minutes;15 students max. per class; Age 16+.

General English Plus is a 21 hour per week, intensive course which combines General English and Plus Six. General English covers all 4 communicative skills and essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and phrases. Plus 6 offers students the chance to further practise their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a more communicative way.Note: Timetable depends on your level of English and the availability. You will either have classes in the morning or afternoon.

This intensive General English language course is made up of 30 lessons per week/22.5 hours per week that combine language learning with a special focus on developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. This is best for students who want to study full-time i.e. Monday – Friday (Morning & Afternoon classes)
