English Courses

This course is designed for people who want to improve their English level and also develop their skills for using English in a business environment. It combines 20 morning lessons of General English with 8 afternoon lessons focusing on English for Business and students can study for between 2 and 12 weeks.Topics covered will include managing business meetings, negotiations, using the telephone for business, giving presentations and writing professional reports, emails and letters. Students can also choose to prepare for the Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC) during the course.

Intensive Plus BusinessThe Business English Course combines the Intensive Course with afternoon lessons focusing specifically on developing language skills within the context of the world of business. Topics covered include the language of meetings, negotiations and presentations, marketing, sales and advertising and techniques for telephoning and e-communication. The smaller afternoon groups facilitate interaction in realistic business settings.A minimum level of good intermediate (CEFR B2) is required for this course.

Our Business Supplementary courses are designed to build your English language skills to communicate effectively in business contexts, improving your employability and job prospects in your home country. This course combines improving your general English ability with taking focused lessons on business skills. Practice workplace communication techniques in English, learn how to participate in meetings and interviews, and acquire business writing skills. You can combine English courses with specialized business lessons of your choice, or with our Practical Business Intensive service in the U. S.

This program provides students with opportunities to develop essential skills and work habits required for success in all types of workplaces. Students will explore the realities of the workplace and examine factors that determine success while refining their job-search and employability skills. Highlights  Focus on career development that provides students with the tools necessary to work successfully in international and multicultural work environments. As taught at VanWest College, the course exposes students to a wide variety of authentic Business English materials. Although the course maintains a strong focus on test-preparation, the course is highly suitable for any student who wants a deeper understanding and practice with modern Business English.The course includes reading and listening skills, writing practice for emails, letters and reports, models for modern business language, grammar and vocabulary exercises to train students to avoid common mistakes, role plays of common business scenarios, and ample speaking practice, from solo presentations to group discussions.
