This intensive General English language course is made up of 30 lessons per week/22.5 hours per week that combine language learning with a special focus on developing critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. This is best for students who want to study full-time i.e. Monday – Friday (Morning & Afternoon classes)

The Standard General English Course takes place all year round. Lessons are held every morning, from Monday to Friday (09.30 – 13.00 in the UK). Students will work on improving the skills involved with speaking, listening, reading and writing, so that they can improve their comprehension and communicate more freely. They will work on their linguistic knowledge, increasing their vocabulary and deepening their understanding of the grammar and structure of the language. Courses at CES are communicative and task-based, using the most up to date technology and authentic materials. Students are then free in the afternoons to join our exciting social programme, use the self-access facilities, or to explore the rich history and culture of Ireland and the UK.

The Academic Year Programmes are designed for long-term English language training and are ideal if you plan to study English for 6 months or more. They provide excellent value for money and a flexible approach to your studies. You can choose from any of our standard or intensive course provided you meet the entry requirements. This course is perfect for those who want to study at a UK university or develop their business careers.

This course is composed of: 20 Lessons per week; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 16 hours 40 minutes; 15 students max. per class; Age 16+. During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book and a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines. As well as taking lessons, you will have plenty of time to sight-see and explore your destination.The course is semi-intensive, and is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced, with classes made up of different levels. The focus is on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking, and all our schools offer extensive and varied activities programs to help you make the most of your destination.

St Giles Eastbourne offers International Semester Language Courses to students wishing to experience British life and study General English for 6 months or longer. Additional modules also available at St Giles Eastbourne are: Cambridge English or IELTS exam preparation, English for Business, and English for University Studies.

This General English language course is made up of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week including the General English classes. It also allows you to personalise your course by taking 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

This course gives you the opportunity of living and learning more about the culture and social life of both England and Ireland. Our special long term rates are only available to CES agents. Bookings must be a minimum of 24 weeks to avail of these rates. Students have the opportunity to really further their English language, by learning over a greater length of time. If long term students have the appropriate level, they are welcome to move to our IELTS/Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses or General English with Business English! You can divide your stay as you wish and you can start your course in either England or Ireland - we leave the choice to you. We do recommend that all students who require a visa start their Multi-Destination course in the UK.
