English Courses in South Africa

This course is made up of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week including the General English classes. It also allows you to personalise your course by taking 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

This Intensive English course adds an additional 7.5 hours of English to the core General English course. The additional 10 afternoon lessons each week will give students the opportunity to put into practice the new language learnt in the mornings. Students will develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They will also work on extending their vocabulary. During these lessons the main focus will be to help students speak more fluently and interact more effectively in a variety of real life situations.

Our General English courses are ideal if you use English for everyday purposes.  The semi-intensive course will teach you English vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation together with the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. In the afternoons you will take skill-based elective classes to allow you to focus on the English skills you most want to improve.

Our General English courses are ideal if you use English for everyday purposes. On our Standard GE course you will study 20 lessons a week from 9am to 1pm. The course will teach you English vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation together with the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

This course includes the above General English classes, and also allows you to personalise your course by taking an additional 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of electives. Taking the time to seriously focus on your English will open up unlimited opportunities for you. This programme is for students who study for 24 weeks or more.

The General English course will cover the four main skills you need to write and speak English(reading, writing, listening and speaking), with an emphasis on practical communication in common situations, such as travelling, shopping, and leisure time.There will be support with grammar and pronunciation, and we will also introduce study skills to help you to become an efficient learner and to keep learning English when you are out of the classroom.

Intensive English consists of Standard English in the mornings combined with English for Life lessons in the afternoon. Intensive courses will prepare you for life in an increasingly English-speaking world. You will develop the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills you need to feel more confident as you interact in a range of everyday situations in English. You will also have a chance to discuss interesting topics for 21st century life.

Contextual lessons are balanced to ensure that students improve their ability to apply language structures (grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation) for authentic communication and improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. The minimum age is 16 and classes have a maximum of 12 students (average 10-12).

The English for Law course is focused on the specialised language required for working in an international legal environment. You will develop practical skills that will help you discuss commercial legal matters, participate in meetings, negotiate and make presentations more effectively. In particular, our legal English course covers a variety of topics, such as company law, competition law, mergers and acquisitions, human rights and intellectual property, so you can be sure that your vocabulary on this topics will improve noticeably. Furthermore, you will utilise authentic legal texts and case studies to support your learning. These courses are designed to prepare you for the IELTS academic English exams, with focused training in exam strategies and techniques to allow you to maximise your potential and achieve the grade you need. The semi intensive course is combined with English for Academic Purpose four afternoons a week.
