Our ‘English in Action’ surfing program allows you to combine part-time General English Language with surfing lessons from the best local instructors. Even if you have never surfed before, you’ll be catching a wave by the end of your first lesson and within a few weeks you’ll be surfing with the locals, your classmates and maybe even one or two of your teachers. The ‘English in Action – Surfing’ course includes: • Part-time General English • Pick up and drop off transfers between school and the beach • All equipment • Two- hour surfing lesson, four afternoons per week Just bring your own towel, swimmers, sunscreen and your get-up-and-go energy!

The Intensive English Language Course consists of 25 weekly lessons that are divided into 20 general English lessons + 3 optional workshops + 2 additional free-choice specific English lessons. A characteristic of this school is its personal treatment, since, according to the results of your level exam, you will receive a learning program adapted to your learning objectives.

The General English Language Course develops your core language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) so that you can speak English confidently and apply practical English skills to communicate in everyday situations. Mercury Colleges uses the most up to date curriculum and incorporates eLearning for interesting activities and practice. Studying a General English Language Course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. General English Full-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 20 hours per week with an additional 5 hours per week of Guided Individual Learning (GIL). We understand that every english student comes to Australia with unique goals, plans and learning needs. Lexis 360° is our student care program designed to ensure that all Lexis students receive individual support and attention, initiating the most successful study experience possible.

The General English Language program develops students’ English language communication skills. There is a strong focus on building confidence and fluency. Above all, in a friendly and fun environment! Through a communicative approach, students practice their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Furthermore there are opportunities to learn these skills in a variety of ‘real life’ situations. Discover English, Melbourne offers six levels of General English from Beginner to Advanced. Our Beginner level class accepts students with very little exposure to English. For example, students who have not yet acquired a single word. No one’s level is too low. In contrast, our Advanced General English class is for students with high level communicative skills. Students can attend additional 10 hrs of free classes - 5 hrs of supervised library with a teacher and 5 hrs of extras - different electives each day.

This Semi Intensive General English Language course is ideal for students who want to combine study and sightseeing. Students take the major course (Monday to Thursday) only. This is not available to student visa holders. The General English course focuses on improving your all-round English and in particular your communication skills. Our focus is on students interacting and communicating with each other and getting you to use the language you learn to make you more fluent and confident in English.
