The English Plus Art and Design course is ideal for students who want to improve their English whilst practicing their art and design skills.It allows you to prepare a portfolio of artwork for future study or work purposes. It combines general English with specialist art and design related disciplines.Course structure = 20 lessons (15 hours) of general English + 8 lessons (6 hours) Art and Design per week The art and design lesson content is determined by the student, and is structured around their experience and personal interests. This allows a broad range of students to gain a different, personally tailored experience in art and design. Each student fills in a questionnaire on arrival and has a tutorial with their art teacher in their first lesson where they discuss their art background and previous experience as well as their learning goals.Students can attend with different levels of experience in art and design, from degree level, or pre-masters students to complete beginners, and can attend for different amounts of time. Those who are planning further study in art and design can get portfolio advice and expert guidance on how to prepare effectively for art courses or job applications. With this English course we give you all the tools needed to achieve your academic, professional and personal learning goals. You will study the morning programme from 10:30 to 13:00 Monday to Friday and and do extra classes on some afternoons (13:30 – 16:00) depending on the total number of hours you register for.

Bank holidays

There will be no lessons taking place on UK Bank Holidays when the school will be closed. Fees are not pro rata for weeks where bank holidays take place.

The General English and IELTS Preparation Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course. There are three afternoons a week of IELTS preparation lessons.This course focuses on improving students’ English, as well as on developing their exam techniques. At the end of each week, students will be given a progress test. They will also have the opportunity to sit an IELTS exam during the last week of the course(exam must be booked separately.)
