English Courses

You can join the Milestones' General English course on any Monday and you will soon find that you are better able to communicate in every-day situations and understand native speakers more easily. Milestones gives you the flexibility to study in the mornings or evenings and you can choose to study for 15 or 20 hours each week. Every Monday your teacher will work with you to plan the week's lessons. This is your opportunity to say what you want to work on and improve the specific areas you need. Our teachers don't just use a course book. They also include lots of real-world materials in the lessons.

The Diploma of Intensive English course allows you to immerse yourself in English for up to 48 weeks and you’ll learn, live and think like a native English speaker. You will have a personalised study plan, regular progress tutorials, and regular language level tests. The course combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours). In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. Example options include — Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge); Business English; Group Discussion; Art and Design; Speech and Pronunciation; Academic Writing Skills; etc. The Diploma of Intensive English course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

General English courses will improve a wide range of skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar.  Our qualified teachers use communicative teaching methods to provide energetic and fun lessons.

For those who need to prepare for success in the IELTS Examination. This internationally recognised qualification will help with future employment or entrance to an English speakinguniversity. As well as covering the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening), grammar and vocabulary in a student centered and communicative setting, you will have the chance to develop both your fluency and accuracy through daily workshops designed to reinforce and the language you studied in the morning.
The minimum number to run a level is 5 students per class.

The Academic English course at LAB Vancouver is designed to focus on:+ Grammar Structures+ Academic Vocabulary Building+ Reading Comprehension+ Writing SkillsThis course allows students to improve their reading skills and grammar accuracy in both spoken and written English. In this class, a wide variety of reading texts are studied in detail. The diversity in content exposes students to a broad range of vocabulary and grammar, as well as literary forms. Students practice reading comprehension and analyze relationships between words as they practice using new vocabulary in different contexts. Super Intensive classes go even further! Here you will work closely with your teacher in smaller groups to help you reach your goals outside of the school environment. You might be learning Transferable Skills such as how to deliver an effective and engaging presentation, or furthering your career by studying International Business English or Exam Preparation; with the Super Intensive package, you are learning more than simply English!The minimum number to run a level is 5 students per class. 

This program provides students with a foundational background in supply chain management (SCM). Building upon the students’ general baccalaureate academic experience, the program begins with a solid foundation in communications and business. The program then goes on to deliver introductory courses in the 3 main areas of SCM: procurement, operations and logistics; before students embark on their first Co-op work term.
