Our Semi-Intensive English course is a semi-intensive programme that allows you to balance classroom tuition with structured study and free time activities. You will improve your English language ability at a speed you feel comfortable with, while having time to enjoy your destination.This course is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced and you will be placed in a class which is suitable for your level. The course focuses on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions and strategies.

Students receive an ILAC Certificate based on their length of study and final level.Students are trained to achieve success on the First Certificate in English (FCE) and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and gain confidence in taking regular practice tests.Cambridge Exams are internationally recognized for life and considered the best indicator of English proficiency. CLLC’s Accelerated Program gives students an opportunity to complete their levels more quickly than the Intensive program. Students will study General English and IELTS Preparation for 35 hours per week (46 lessons/week). Students study our primary classes of Reading & Writing, Listening & Speaking in addition to IELTS Preparation. CLLC’s Elective Plus One class is also included and gives students the opportunity to focus on additional language skills that are different from their primary classes.

This course is intended for non-native teachers of other subjects who wish to develop their own English language skills. It is specifically aimed at teachers of other subjects, who have to teach their subjects through English.

IELTS is a highly respected test of English language skills for educational and professional purposes, particularly for students who wish to go to university in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Our IELTS preparation course will teach you valuable English skills and strategies for taking the IELTS exam, helping you to achieve a better score. Learn about the different exam sections, the ways to maximize your exam time, and the types of questions on the IELTS exam. You will also practice reading, writing, listening and speaking, and improve your grammar and vocabulary. This supplementary course aims to give you a strong grasp of general English, while also teaching you for the IELTS exam. We also offer an Intensive Preparation course that gives you a stronger focus on the exam.

One-on-one classes are hired per hour and allow you to work on what you want, on your specific needs. You and the Academic Director design a course for you according to your interests and your time availability.

The General English Language evening program develops students’ English language communication skills. There is a strong focus on building confidence and fluency. Above all, in a friendly and fun environment! Through a communicative approach, students practice their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Furthermore there are opportunities to learn these skills in a variety of ‘real life’ situations. Discover English, Melbourne offers six levels of General English from Beginner to Advanced. Our Beginner level class accepts students with very little exposure to English. For example, students who have not yet acquired a single word. No one’s level is too low. In contrast, our Advanced General English class is for students with high level communicative skills. Students can attend additional 10 hrs of free classes - 5 hrs of supervised library with a teacher and 5 hrs of extras - different electives each day.

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

This course is only available to students studying in the USA or Canada. With this English language course, you get 24 lessons (18 hours) per week of General English including four lessons per week in your choice of Special Focus study. With this programme, you will develop fluency, accuracy and appropriate uses of English across all four language skills. You will benefit from excellent guidance, monitoring and feedback throughout this course. Taking the time to seriously focus on your English will open up unlimited opportunities for you. This programme is for students who study for 24 weeks or more.
