This programme allows Non-EU students to progress through at least two levels over an 8-month period and gain a professional, internationally-recognised English qualification. Students on this programme can work 20 hours per week during the 6-month study period, and 40 hours per week during the 2 month holiday.
Award
All students who successfully complete the programme receive the ISI Certificate in English. Non-EU students must complete an official examination at the end
of the programme such as Trinity ISE, FCE, CAE and IELTS.
Entry requirements
Students should be at least 18 years old on the course start date.
Students on Academic Year Academic Year 15 (AY15) programmes are integrated with the General English classes. This creates an international mix of students, each doing courses of different durations. With a full 25-week programme, Academic Year students can expect to progress through at
least two levels during their course before completing their final exit examination. Our morning classes offer a greater international mix of students, while the
discounted afternoon classes tend to have fewer nationalities.

The General English program combines our core class with a variety of academic and informal methods to take your English proficiency to new levels. Our academic workshops include pronunciation clinics, conversation clubs, homework assistance and more. This is the Intensive version of the General French Language courses imparted at Eurocentres Paris. Studying a General Intensive French course will give you an understanding of the French language and take you all the way from a beginner to fluent quicker than the standard version. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. This course starts every Monday, but beginners must start on the first Monday of the month.

Our General English for Beginners is for adults who have a low level of English (levels 1-2 or A1-A2). Taught in small groups, students learn to use English in everyday situations. Everybody in the group is a beginner so they will practise with people at the same level. This is the perfect course for students who would like to complement their 20 core lessons with 10 specialised elective lessons. Intensive 30 will allow exploration of an extensive range of elective options as a well as building a solid foundation of language. Our Intensive 30 course covers the key language learning areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, using skills-based and situational learning combined with using one-to-one tutorials and regular progress tests to respond to the student’s individual learning needs.

This course has a minimum stay of 20 weeks.

The General English course at St Giles Cambridge is designed to benefit students who hope to communicate with confidence and ease in real-life situations. The main goal is to improve speaking and listening skills. Classes have a maximum of 12 students which allows teachers to provide each student with the personal attention they require. Classes will focus on improving students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, which will help them reach their full potential. This course runs in the afternoons.
