Our General English Courses are designed to improve your English across the 4 skills of Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading. Conversation classes place a more specific impact on conversation elements which shall improve communicative abilities for all those attending. Through our learner-centred approach, we ensure the optimal learning environment through an engaging experience, boosting your confidence and competence when communicating in English both in, and more importantly, out of the classroom in the real world.

Apart from the 20 L/W of General English that students have, with this option the choice of two electives is available. There are electives suitable for each level, some of the options are: pronunciation, grammar, speaking, English for business, critical response, English for public speaking, English for social media...

Our General English language courses are designed to improve your English language skills and give you more professional and academic options in the future. As well as taking lessons, you will have plenty of time to sight-see and explore your destination. The course is semi-intensive, and is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced, with classes made up of different levels. This course has 15 lessons per week. The focus is on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking, and all our schools offer extensive and varied activities programs to help you make the most of your destination.

This Academic Year Abroad option (AYA) can be between 24 and 48 weeks. Each lesson is 50 minutes long. ATA and AYA programmes differ from shorter courses at LSI because students receive a greater level of academic support and management, including two additional weekly sessions with a teacher. An individual study plan is designed for you to suit your level, individual aims and the duration of your course. We continue to check your progress with regular meetings to make sure you achieve your aims.

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Our Semi-Intensive English course is a semi-intensive programme that allows you to balance classroom tuition with structured study and free time activities. You will improve your English language ability at a speed you feel comfortable with, while having time to enjoy your destination. This course is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced and you will be placed in a class which is suitable for your level. The course focuses on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions and strategies.

In the course, you get to talk about life in Sweden, working life, and education in both past and present. We practice very natural pronunciation. You can read dialogues and shorter texts and practice understanding spoken Swedish.

The General English course will cover the four main skills you need to write and speak English(reading, writing, listening and speaking), with an emphasis on practical communication in common situations, such as travelling, shopping, and leisure time.There will be support with grammar and pronunciation, and we will also introduce study skills to help you to become an efficient learner and to keep learning English when you are out of the classroom. Important: Brazilian agencies must book through the Cape Town USD campus.

ILSC offers a wide range of courses. You can take any combination you wish, depending on your interests, goals, language level and schedule. Most courses are offered at many different levels and last four weeks. This course runs in the afternoons!!

Our Standard 20 French language course is an excellent choice if you want to improve your general linguistic communication skills and still have free time on your hands. Classes usually take place in the morning, so that you can make the most of your time off in the afternoon and take part in the activities that the school offers. This course framework helps you acquire general French language skills that can be readily applied to day-to-day life. Benefit by developing your core language proficiency and by still having plenty of free time.
