The Academic English course at LAB Vancouver is designed to focus on:+ Grammar Structures+ Academic Vocabulary Building+ Reading Comprehension+ Writing SkillsThis course allows students to improve their reading skills and grammar accuracy in both spoken and written English. In this class, a wide variety of reading texts are studied in detail. The diversity in content exposes students to a broad range of vocabulary and grammar, as well as literary forms. Students practice reading comprehension and analyze relationships between words as they practice using new vocabulary in different contexts. In this course the focus is on developing your reading and writing skills and improving your use of grammar for academic success. The program is ideal if you wish to pursue academic studies abroad.

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who are applying for a course at a UK university or work in English-speaking countries.The course may be combined with General English classes if you take an intensive course.

This programme is reserved for teachers of French as a Foreign Language whose mother tongue is not French. The programme enables you to explore the subtleties of today's French and to work on strategies and group dynamics while deepening your knowledge of French culture and civilization!Course organizationThe training lasts 2 weeks and takes place in one of our schools on the basis of 26 lessons / week. Langports' Cambridge Flexi FCE (First Certificate of English) level begins every Monday of the year.In the morning, you will study all components of the Cambridge curriculum (writing, reading, listening and speaking) and focus on exam preparation and strategies. In the afternoon, you will be able to choose an Option class and a Language Workshops from the UFO English program and focus on a weakness or even learn new skills! Depending on your level and availability, Options include : Elementary, Conversation, Vocabulary, Grammar, Introduction to Business English, English for Business & Administration, English through Media & the Internet, English for Engineering & Science and English for Finance & Law.Workshops include : Extension English, Aussie English, English for Work in Australia, Exam Techniques and Tips.Pre-test required for entry Regular progress reports and weekly feedbackThe exam is not compulsory at the end of the course

English for Academic Purposes courses provide language instruction for students who wish to study at a university where English is the language of instruction. Language skills addressed include: listening comprehension, fluency development, oral intelligibility, reading, grammar, writing, and vocabulary development for University levels.

Super Intensive classes go even further! Here you will work closely with your teacher in smaller groups to help you reach your goals outside of the school environment. You might be learning Transferable Skills such as how to deliver an effective and engaging presentation, or furthering your career by studying International Business English or Exam Preparation; with the Super Intensive package, you are learning more than simply English!The minimum number to run a level is 5 students per class.
