The TOEFL test is internationally recognised in the English speaking world, highly regarded by companies and a requirement for enrolment at colleges and universities in the USA and Canada. We offer preparation courses for these examinations as part of an LSI Intensive 30 course.20 lessons per week on grammar and language skills10 lessons per week focus on study skills and exam practice

Our IELTS preparation course focuses on all the main language skills and exam techniques needed to give you the best possible chance of getting the score you need for the university where you wish to study.Course contentThe IELTS course is a very intensive programme focusing on all of the skills you need: reading, writing, listening and speaking, as well as improving vocabulary and grammar. You will also concentrate on developing effective examination techniques.You will do regular examination practice, including a mid-course practice exam, and receive feedback, correction and advice from your trainer. A full online practice IELTS exam is also included in the course.

The General English and IELTS Preparation Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course.  There are three afternoons a week of IELTS preparation lessons.This course focuses on improving students’ English, as well as on developing their exam techniques. At the end of each week, students will be given a progress test.  They will also have the opportunity to sit an IELTS exam during the last week of the course (exam must be booked separately.).  If the student is planning to take the IELTS exam while studying with CES, they should contact our Examinations Office [email protected] for help with registration online.

Who is it for?An Pre-intermediate level or above is required for these courses.TOEFLTOEFL is a computer-based test focussing on academic English, and is widely recognised by universities and employers.Course detailsIn the morning, students participate in the General English 20 Course (Monday to Friday). Alternatively, they can participate in the General English 16 Course (Monday to Thursday).In the afternoons, students then have exclusively TOEFL exam preparation (Monday to Thursday).The examTOEFLThe exam is run once a month in Cape Town.
