General English courses include speaking, listening, reading and writing lessons and vocabulary and grammar development. Duration: 1- 48 weeks. Morning lessons concentrate on grammatical correctness, vocabulary, speaking and listening skills as well as reading and writing. Many texts are used and students are encouraged to speak as much as possible.

By following a General English language Course, students will increase their accuracy in grammar and will increase their competence and confidence in the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Studying a General English language course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. The lessons cover the most important aspects of learning English, including grammar and pronunciation, which will help you improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. By the end of the course students should be able to communicate in English more confidently in different situations outside the classroom. The timetable below is a sample. This course is made up of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week including the General English classes. It also allows you to personalise your course by taking 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

The course consists of the 20 morning classes plus 20 afternoon specialised elective lessons per week, allowing students to maximise their study day and develop a wide variety of skills. Our General English Super Intensive course covers the key language learning areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, using one-to-one tutorials and regular progress tests to respond to the student’s individual learning needs. These electives are: academic speaking and writing, exam skills, confident speaking, English for journalism... among many others.

In this General English language course you will join multi-national language classes following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains, skills and competencies appropriate to your level of ability. Objectives: This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context. You will improve your language skills and also enhance your inter-cultural communication.

The Intensive 30 Spanish language course increases your classroom time by offering 6 group lessons per day from Monday to Friday. It is just like taking 20 lessons per week but has 2 extra small-group lessons every day. These extra-group Spanish lessons are generally taught in even smaller groups and focus on conversation, improving fluency and communication. As the extra lessons are focused mainly on conversation, the Intensive 30 requires you to start with a lower elementary level of Spanish.

France Langue's weekly courses are open to any level, from complete beginners to advanced levels, C1. The courses ​consist of 20 lessons of 45 minutes in a week, in the morning or in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. This option is perfect for those willing to start learning French or improve and perfect their level while enjoying enough free time to take advantage of their stay in France. To complement general French classes, France langue offers 2 additional workshop online. These are specifically targeted workshops focusing on one element of the French language, suited to your needs and desires.

The 25+ Course is designed to make the best use of a short period of study. We aim to improve students' confidence and accuracy when they speak English. The course includes: English language work with a focus on Spoken English and conversation skills. Lessons are designed to develop confidence in using English in both social and professional situations. An adult environment in a building dedicated to our mature students over the age of 25. Social events and excursion possibilities to help students make the most of their short stay in Chester. Students will complete a questionnaire prior to their course and our staff will design the course programme to reflect their needs. With our small classes learning is highly effective and personalised. The one-to-one lessons can focus on: • General English • work-related English • English for Specific Purposes (ESP).
