St Giles Brighton offers the International Semester language Course to students wishing to experience British life and study General English for 6 months or longer. Additional modules also available at St Giles Brighton are: Cambridge English, IELTS or TOEFL exam preparation, English for Business, English for Tourism and English for University Studies.

We offer General English language courses for all levels, from beginner to proficiency. We also offer timetables that give you the flexibility to choose a course that best suits your needs from 1-36+ weeks. We believe that you will learn faster and more effectively if your lessons are engaging, fun and relevant, that’s why our teachers use a range of techniques and develop classes that are motivating and build your confidence. This will allow time to focus on any areas of weakness. Any weekly programme is influenced not only by the course book syllabus but also by the learning goals and interests of the students in any one group.

The Intensive Course is our most popular choice. It combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours).In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. Example options include — Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge); Business English; Group Discussion; Art and Design; Speech and Pronunciation; Academic Writing Skills; etc.The Intensive Course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

The Compact Course offers 20 lessons (15 hours) of general English lessons per week in the UK. Lessons will improve all your key skills at a consistent rate: reading, writing, listening, speaking. You will be assigned to your general English class based on your current Kings Level. We have classes suitable for students at Level 1 (Beginner) right through to Level 8 (Advanced), and you will progress up through the levels as your skills improve and your confidence grows. The Compact Course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

This General English language course is made up of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week including the General English classes. It also allows you to personalise your course by taking 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

This General English language course has 10 lessons per week. 1 lesson: 50 minutes; 15 Students maximum per class; Course length: 1-11 weeks; Hours per week: 8 hours 20 minutes; Ages 16+. This course is suitable for students who wish to improve their fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation in a language. There is an emphasis on language for everyday situations and classes may involve discussing topics such as film and theatre, current events, politics, local culture and the internet.

This General English language course has 30 Lessons per week.15 students maximum; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 25 hours; Age 16+. The LSI Intensive 30 course concentrates on all the areas that you need to achieve much greater fluency in a short period of time. This course is suitable for students who wish to study intensively and get a well-rounded insight into the language and country. Students on the LSI Intensive 30 course study the same lessons as described for General 20 in the morning. During the afternoon there are a range of electives to suit all levels, needs and interests. This General English language course has 24 Lessons per week. Beginner to Advanced levels are available. 1 lesson: 50 minutes. During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book and a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines.
