Our English language Academic Year courses in Kaplan Vancouver are nine-month English courses that aim to take you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. This course has 20 hours of classes per week. Immerse yourself in the English language, and spend a year studying and getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially designed study materials.

On the General English 20 Course, you attend a core of 20 lessons per week (15 hours), which will give you a practical understanding of the English language and take you all the way to fluency. Your confidence will improve as we train you in all four communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

This is the perfect course for students who would like to complement their 20 core lessons with 10 specialised elective lessons. Intensive 30 will allow exploration of an extensive range of elective options as a well as building a solid foundation of language. Our Intensive 30 course covers the key language learning areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, using skills-based and situational learning combined with using one-to-one tutorials and regular progress tests to respond to the student’s individual learning needs. These electives are: exam skills, communication, Academic speaking and writing... among many others.

They are designed for busy professionals, executives, and mature learners who hope to improve quickly. Our General English courses are designed to help students communicate successfully and confidently in real-life situations. Classes have a maximum of twelve students, to ensure that every student receives personal attention from their teacher. Although classes have a focus on speaking and listening, students have the chance to practise all four skills, helping them reach their full potential. Students can choose to study for anything from 1 to 24 weeks.
