Kurus English has been offering this experience for 12 years.The Language Excursions are out-of-classroom communication classes, where your teacher becomes your language guide. This promotes, encourages and links the practice of English through social, historical and cultural excursions.The Language Excursions are flexible and co-ordinate with actual events in Cape Town, whenever possible and/or desirable. These excursions give you the unique opportunity of improving your English while meeting and encountering the people, the energy and the diversity of Cape Town.

The English Plus Art and Design course is ideal for students who want to improve their English whilst practicing their art and design skills.It allows you to prepare a portfolio of artwork for future study or work purposes. It combines general English with specialist art and design related disciplines.Course structure = 20 lessons (15 hours) of general English + 8 lessons (6 hours) Art and Design per week The art and design lesson content is determined by the student, and is structured around their experience and personal interests. This allows a broad range of students to gain a different, personally tailored experience in art and design. Each student fills in a questionnaire on arrival and has a tutorial with their art teacher in their first lesson where they discuss their art background and previous experience as well as their learning goals.Students can attend with different levels of experience in art and design, from degree level, or pre-masters students to complete beginners, and can attend for different amounts of time. Those who are planning further study in art and design can get portfolio advice and expert guidance on how to prepare effectively for art courses or job applications. Students will get an understanding of how art and design is taught in the UK through project work to develop creative thinking. At Kings London, a fully-equipped art studio is available for English Plus Art and Design students to use. The studios provide a great space to meet other students after class to share and develop artistic ideas, and to learn new skills. You may also work on projects in your spare time here.

Students can add surfing tuition in the afternoons to complement their language course. We find the lesson continues as we talk and surf the local breaks with experienced surf teachers and others who love the ocean. The fee includes all equipment and surfing tuition.
