Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.Course contentThe morning and afternoon sessions will focus on helping you develop your general English language skills through a variety of useful and engaging materials and activities. Every week will include:Grammar and vocabulary carefully selected by your trainer based on your needs and goals. You will practise these throughout the weekA focus on speaking, with the majority of your classes designed to maximise your speaking timeExtended fluency activities including discussions, role-plays and presentations. These will give you the opportunity to develop your speaking further and bring together the grammar, vocabulary and skills you have worked on during the weekListening and reading activities from a range of sourcesA focus on writing skills, for example formal and informal emailsPronunciation. This may be in the form of a dedicated lesson and/or connected to the grammar, vocabulary or skills you are studyingPractical communication strategies, for example agreeing and disagreeing politely, interrupting, showing sympathyA focus on social and intercultural EnglishCorrection and productive feedback on your speaking and writing

Our IELTS preparation course focuses on all the main language skills and exam techniques needed to give you the best possible chance of getting the score you need for the university where you wish to study.Course contentThe IELTS course is a very intensive programme focusing on all of the skills you need: reading, writing, listening and speaking, as well as improving vocabulary and grammar. You will also concentrate on developing effective examination techniques.You will do regular examination practice, including a mid-course practice exam, and receive feedback, correction and advice from your trainer. A full online practice IELTS exam is also included in the course.

Individual English training is available via Skype, or face to face in Holland Park Gardens for people adding individual training to a group course. Your trainer will deliver English lessons based on your individual goals. You will discuss these with your trainer who will create your custom-made programme. Course content: Group classes are usually in the morning. In these sessions you will develop your general English language skills, focusing on listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as grammar and vocabulary. Key areas include:Active speaking. Listening to a range of different materials. Practical grammar. Expanding vocabulary. Better communication strategies. Confident and fluent reading. Better writing skills. Discussions and role-plays. Pronunciation. Individual training sessions are usually in the afternoon. These sessions are tailored to your needs and can focus on any particular area of study that you wish.
