With this full-time course, you will quickly learn how to effectively communicate in a professional business environment. Learn with business case studies, business role plays, and practical job seeking skills. Additional optional lessons allow you to focus on the specific areas that you want more help with. Get more practical business experience by combining your Business Intensive course with an Internship placement in Australia or New Zealand, or supplement your course with our Practical Business Intensive service in the US.

Our five month English Academic Semester course aims to get you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation. Immerse yourself in the English language and spend a semester studying, getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially produced study materials.

Academic English combines general English with a focus on key academic skills and exam English. The programme includes regular, focussed grammar and vocabulary reviews, which allows students to target their individual language needs while developing their academic reading and writing skills. This is all supported by specialised, targeted, online resources through our online learning system, E-LSI.

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. TOEFL® is the most popular examination for North American English and is the most widely accepted English language test in the world. Our TOEFL® and Academic English Exam Preparation course will give you the test skills and the level of English that you need to do well on your exam. We focus on test-taking strategies and highlight the academic English skills needed for exam success. The course includes TOEFL®-focused reading, writing, listening and speaking, plus practice exam questions and online simulation tests that mirror the real TOEFL® ibT. Students unable to attend a live course could instead enrol in Kaplan’s TOEFL® Online Course

Aimed at speakers of other languages, this course equips students with the basic tools required to teach English as a Foreign Language.Topics covered: Language analysis; Lesson planning; teaching the skills of reading, writing, listening, speaking; classroom activities; using resources and materials; looking at learners’ needs; dealing with learners’ mistakes.

If you want a personal and interactive approach you should also consider the LSI Mini group course. Mini group courses include general grammar and skills. The focus on negotiations, presentations and meetings is relevant in business and non-business situations. It is an exciting alternative to LSI General 20 and Intensive 30 courses for more mature learners.
