Our intensive ESL program has ten levels that range from beginner to intermediate to advanced classes. Students will take classes that focus on different English language skills such as reading, listening, grammar and communication. As students improve theirs level they can take other language skills such as pronunciation, conversation or writing. 

This course develops all aspects of language competence in a personalised programme coordinated by the core teacher. Our General English Morning 20 course covers the key language learning areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, using skills-based and situational learning combined with one-to-one tutorials and regular progress tests to respond to the student’s individual learning needs. On the Intensive English Language Course, you will follow the same program as the Standard General English Language Course in the mornings. You will also have afternoon classes and the chance to improve your English language skills even further. These lessons help to build your knowledge of the language, focusing primarily on helping you increase your vocabulary and improve your grammar so that you reach the levels of accuracy you need. In the afternoons, you will be able to further practice the language you have learned in the morning, with a strong focus on listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills through discussions, role plays, video work, and listening exercises.

The semi-intensive course includes the full core class with Language Development and English Skills, with the addition of three electives per week. This will allow exploration of an extensive range of elective options as well as building on a solid foundation of the language. Our General English Semi-Intensive course covers the key language learning areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, using one-to-one tutorials and regular progress tests to respond to the student’s individual learning needs.

Our English language Academic Semester courses in Kaplan Vancouver are five-month English courses that aim to take you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. This course has 20 hours of classes per week. Immerse yourself in the English language, and spend a year studying and getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially designed study materials.

This course is only available to students studying in the USA or Canada. With this English language course, you get 24 lessons (18 hours) per week of General English including four lessons per week in your choice of Special Focus study.

General Language English classes are an opportunity for you to improve not only your speaking skills, but also to practise reading, writing, and listening. Each lesson consists of a mix of grammar, vocabulary, and communicative activities to keep the class lively and interesting. This intensive language course combines the General English course plus our range of modules, soyou get to personalise your course totally to fit your needs.

The course consists of the 20 morning classes plus 20 afternoon specialised elective lessons per week, allowing students to maximise their study day and develop a wide variety of skills. Our General English Super Intensive course covers the key language learning areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, using one-to-one tutorials and regular progress tests to respond to the student’s individual learning needs. These electives are: academic speaking and writing, exam skills, confident speaking, English for journalism... among many others.

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Develop confidence, increase word power and improve pronunciation. This Communication Englisg course is designed to help you communicate effectively and with ease in a wide range of situations from social settings to debates and presentations. FOC combines the morning oral communication periods (Periods 2, 3 and 4) with select afternoon workshops designed especially for FOC students, such as Power Speaking and Debating. You can change your workshop topic weekly allowing you to better customize your studies to your individual needs. In addition to class work, this course includes one free Chat Buddy session (3 to 5 hours per week) per month. Your Canadian Chat Buddy will help you to practice your conversational skills outside of the classroom and become familiar with Canadian life through a variety of social activities.
