This English language course from VanWest Vancouver is based on an integrated skill curriculum, morning classes will teach you specific strategies to improve your English language. This English language course will build students’ understanding of the basic grammar, vocabulary, and functions of the English language. This course allows taking 2 extra lessons daily than a standard General English Course.

Our five month English Academic Semester course aims to get you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business Intensive and exam preparation. Immerse yourself in the English language and spend a semester studying, getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially produced study materials.

Our Intensive English program offers a fast, enjoyable and effective way to improve your English language skills, whatever your current language level. You have the opportunity to customize your course with specific skills lessons, including business English and exam preparation. The course allows you to quickly achieve English fluency and learn grammar and vocabulary that will be useful in every day English. You can study for as long as you need to, and by doing so will improve your opportunities in future academic and professional endeavours.

This course is only available to students studying in the USA or Canada. With this English language course, you get 24 lessons (18 hours) per week of General English including four lessons per week in your choice of Special Focus study.

The Speaking Clinic has been created for students that have mastered the basics of grammar and vocabulary but are struggling to make the leap to oral fluency in English. Differences in pitch and rhythm and difficulties with pronunciation are often barriers to being able to explain your ideas and opinions in English. This course has been specifically designed to perfect your spoken English by concentrating on overcoming whatever is standing in the way of your being able to communicate clearly and confidently.Regular practice with role play and pronunciation error correction, and the use of recording devices to check your progress will help you in your goal to sound like a native speaker of English.You may choose to add an elective course to create an Intensive Program.

The aim of this General English language course is to help you improve your English language skills, make progress and achieve your goals. Learning English in an English-speaking country is ideal because it allows you to perfect your English language skills quickly and easily with practice both inside and outside the classroom. This 20 English lessons per week offer greater flexibility – you can study at home for part of the day, spend time exploring the city, or even combine it with private one-to-one lessons for a more intensive and personal experience. Each level takes 12 weeks to complete. Students are given end of term tests every four weeks.Intermediate - Become familiar with fast-paced conversation skills and practical vocabulary through role play.Upper Intermediate - Build a strong foundation in public speaking, presentation skills, and formal/ informal vocabulary.Advanced - Near native level of fluency through advanced level of presentation, debate and group discussion.

CLLC’s Accelerated Program gives students an opportunity to complete their levels more quickly than the Intensive program. Students will study General English and IELTS Preparation for 35 hours per week (46 lessons/week). Students study our primary classes of Reading & Writing, Listening & Speaking in addition to IELTS Preparation. CLLC’s Elective Plus One class is also included and gives students the opportunity to focus on additional language skills that are different from their primary classes.

Apart from the 20 L/W of General English that students have, with this option the choice of two electives is available. There are electives suitable for each level, some of the options are: pronunciation, grammar, speaking, English for business, critical response, English for public speaking, English for social media...
