Today’s students are born into a digital world. Take advantage of the new technology used by your students to make your classes more innovative and stimulating! This course has been designed for newcomers to technology in the classroom.The course consists of two main components plus an extensive Scottish culture programme:The morning methodology sessions will focus on the use of technology in the classroom. You will look at the use of applications, smart devices and web resources in order to create innovative activities and acquire new language and knowledge. Every day you will explore digital resources in practical workshops, helping you to enhance your ICT Skills. During the programme, you will examine the pros and cons of using ICT in language education; discover tools to create innovative content; learn how to collaborate and brainstorm both inside and outside the classroom; experiment with augmented reality quizzes; create and edit interactive video clips and other digital content; familiarise yourself with the use of smartphones, tablets, streaming digital players and computers in the classroom. The English language component focuses on speaking and listening skills during the afternoon sessions. You will expand your vocabulary, develop your grammar and improve your fluency through discussions on a variety of topics with your classmates from the EU and beyond.The social programme includes a number of activities and visits to give you an introduction to the culture of Scotland. Activities include a wakling tour of Edinburgh with a guide, a ceilidh (traditional Scottish dancing), whisky tasting, and excursions to historical landmarks and places of cultural interest, such as museums and art galleries. Interactive quiz software, cloud-based productivity software, online visual organisers for mind-mapping and timelines, video editing software, web-based collaboration tools, spaced repetition vocabulary practice apps, online pronunciation resources, online forms, tablets, interactive TV, digital pencils, and more fun stuff!
Who is the programme for?The training course is addressed to all teachers teaching children from 10 years old, adult teachers, school directors, school inspectors and school staff in general who wish to acquire the skills for using ICT and online tools for educational purposes.This course is particularly recommended for teachers taking their “first digital steps” in the classroom. This programme is eligible for (but is not exclusive to) teachers with Erasmus+ funding. Participants should have at least an intermediate B1 level of English. The course can be combined with other Erasmus+ Programmes (Enhanced English Skills or Technology in the Classroom)
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance in the end of the programme.
