Students who take our most popular intensive Spanish course in Barcelona will develop their language skills in an interactive small group environment with an average class size of six students. Small classes allow for personalized attention from the professor in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Students will be completely immersed in the Spanish language while participating in 20 lessons per week. The course is best for students who are ready for an intensive schedule and who want to advance more rapidly and effectively through the Spanish-language curriculum.

The Group Course of 30 Lessons in Barcelona, Spain, is the most intensive Spanish immersion course available at Expanish. In addition to regular group classes in the morning, this Spanish immersion course offers an additional two hours of extra group classes in the afternoon that focus on providing students with practical experience and a focus on writing and speaking in everyday situations. This course is a great option for students who want to: Learn beyond the specific content of their level's curriculum and focus on real communication and situational context. The preparation course for the DELE exam consists of individual classes in Barcelona, Spain, specifically designed to ensure the student develops the necessary competencies to pass their selected level of the exam (beginner, intermediate, or advanced). Beginner students wanting to take the DELE course will need approximately 8 weeks of lessons before starting at DELE A1 level. The classes introduce a variety of activities to promote development of the four basic skills (writing, reading, conversation, and listening), all of which are necessary to successfully pass the DELE exam.

Students can prepare for the new SIELE Exam, or “Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española”, at Expanish as well as sit for the exam.SIELE certifies the degree of proficiency for the Spanish language with four tests: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and spoken expression and interaction; the exam also takes as a reference the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The Evening Group Course is a less intensive option for those who work or study during the day. Classes are held two nights per week and students can start at the beginning of each month. This course is perfect for those who want to improve their level of Spanish in a more relaxed atmosphere and meet other expats in your same situation as it is intended for local residents.

To be eligible to apply to a university in Spain as an international student you must first achieve the minimum Spanish level needed to study at the university level, which is high intermediate (B2). You will then have to prepare for the university entry exam (EBAU) which students take in May of each year to start university in September.

University entry exam (EBAU) preparation
The EBAU, or “Evaluación del Bachillerato para el Acceso a la Universidad”, is a series of exams to enter university in Spain. Both Spaniards and foreign nationals should complete them as part of their application to a bachelor’s/undergraduate degree. This can also be referred to as the ´Selectividad´ or the Spanish University entrance exam.
