Our Focus Cambridge class allows students to develop their listening, reading, writing, and speaking through academic lessons and a wide range of topics that go beyond the everyday-life context. It challenges and encourages students to become independent learners giving them the foundations to potentially face exam-based classes in the future.

Lexis English’s IELTS Preparation course is designed to prepare students to take the internationally recognised International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination. IELTS is an international standardised test of English language proficiency. It is jointly managed by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, the British Council and IDP Education Pty Ltd.
There are two versions of the IELTS, the Academic Version and the General Training Version. The Academic Version is intended for those who want to enrol in universities and other institutions of higher education. It is also used for professional recognition in fields such as medicine. The General Training Version is intended for those planning to undertake non-academic training or to gain work experience. In Australia, it is also widely used for immigration purposes.
IELTS is accepted by most English speaking academic institutions and along with Cambridge CAE, it may also be used for immigration purposes to Australia, New Zealand and Canada. No minimum score is required to pass the IELTS test. An IELTS result or Test Report Form is issued to all candidates with a score from 1 (no knowledge) to 9 (expert user).

General English courses at Lexis English offer students the flexibility of combining their English language education with a large range of options classes – personalising each student’s course to suit their academic needs. For students wanting to brush up their English skills for travelling, employment or to work towards a placement in one of our academic programs or Certificate or Diploma courses, our General English course is designed to get results.
General English Full-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 20 hours per week with an additional 5 hours per week of Guided Individual Learning (GIL), whilst our General English Part-Time course consists of 15 hours per week.

General English courses at Lexis English offer students the flexibility of combining their English language education with a large range of options classes – personalising each student’s course to suit their academic needs.
