Pathways programmes at LSI's schools in San Diego help students gain access into many respected American higher learning institutions. Pathways programmes focus mostly on English language training but also provide support and assistance with university and college applications. In addition, a number of LSI partner institutions in America offer conditional letters of acceptance to LSI students and recognise LSI levels in place of external tests of English.

The IELTS test is internationally recognised in the English speaking world, highly regarded by companies and a requirement for enrolment at colleges and universities in many English speaking countries except in Canada and the USA. Academic English combines general English with a focus on key academic skills and exam English. The programme includes regular, focussed grammar and vocabulary reviews, which allows students to target their individual language needs while developing their academic reading and writing skills. If you want a personal and interactive approach you should also consider the LSI Mini group course. Mini group courses include general grammar and skills. The exam preparation courses are designed to help you achieve the result needed in your chosen language exam. These official language exams are used as a proof of language proficiency for immigration purposes, university admissions, or for employment. In this course you will learn and develop test-taking strategies and skills.

This course is suitable for students who wish to improve their fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation in a language. There is an emphasis on language for everyday situations and classes may involve discussing topics such as film and theatre, current events, politics, local culture and the internet. 10 lessons per week; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; 15 Students maximum per class; Course length: 1-11 weeks; Hours per week: 8 hours 20 minutes; Ages 16+.
