General English Language Courses at Lexis English offer students the flexibility of combining their English language education with a large range of options classes – personalising each student’s course to suit their academic needs. For students wanting to brush up their English skills for travelling, employment or to work towards a placement in one of our academic programs or Certificate or Diploma courses, our General English course is designed to get results. We understand that every english student comes to Australia with unique goals, plans and learning needs. General English Part-Time course consists of 15 hours per week.

Our ‘English in Action’ surfing program allows you to combine part-time General English Language with surfing lessons from the best local instructors. Even if you have never surfed before, you’ll be catching a wave by the end of your first lesson and within a few weeks you’ll be surfing with the locals, your classmates and maybe even one or two of your teachers. The ‘English in Action – Surfing’ course includes: • Part-time General English • Pick up and drop off transfers between school and the beach • All equipment • Two- hour surfing lesson, four afternoons per week Just bring your own towel, swimmers, sunscreen and your get-up-and-go energy!

The Intensive English Language Course consists of 15 weekly lessons focused solely on general English. These are lessons focused on developing reading, writing, oral and listening comprehension and conversation. You will have three hours a day of class, each lesson is 60 minutes, with the estimated timetable being from 9:00 to 12:25, Monday to Friday.

You can join the Milestones' General English course on any Monday and you will soon find that you are better able to communicate in every-day situations and understand native speakers more easily. Milestones gives you the flexibility to study in the mornings or evenings and you can choose to study for 15 or 20 hours each week. Every Monday your teacher will work with you to plan the week's lessons. This is your opportunity to say what you want to work on and improve the specific areas you need. Our teachers don't just use a course book. They also include lots of real-world materials in the lessons.

This English Language Course is suitable for students who wish to improve their fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation in a language. There is an emphasis on language for everyday situations and classes may involve discussing topics such as film and theatre, current events, politics, local culture and the internet. This course is not suitable for Student Visa Holders as a main course.

The Cambridge Test is one of the most recognised tests around the world, and a lot of companies in non-Englishspeaking countries require you to have a Cambridge test score when you apply for a  job. Cambridge CAE is also accepted by the Australian Department of Home Affairs for visa purposes and for entry into Bachelor and Master's courses at all major Australian universities.Who is this course for?The Cambridge English course is designed for students who wish to acquire the language and test-taking skills necessary to undertake the Cambridge test.
