We offer General English language courses for all levels, from beginner to proficiency. We also offer timetables that give you the flexibility to choose a course that best suits your needs from 1-36+ weeks. This will allow time to focus on any areas of weakness. Any weekly programme is influenced not only by the course book syllabus but also by the learning goals and interests of the students in any one group.

This course includes the General English classes, and also allows you to personalise your course by taking an additional 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of electives. You will benefit from excellent guidance, monitoring and feedback throughout this course. As your English and your confidence improve, you will broaden your horizons and gain a huge advantage in your chosen career or education. This programme is for students who study for 24 weeks or more.

The Diploma of Intensive English course allows you to immerse yourself in English for up to 48 weeks and you’ll learn, live and think like a native English speaker. You will have a personalised study plan, regular progress tutorials, and regular language level tests. The course combines 20 general English lessons (15 hours) with 8 Special Interest Group (SIG) lessons per week (6 hours). In the general English lessons, students will focus on improving their English language skills across the 4 key skill areas at a consistent rate — reading, writing, listening and speaking.In the Special Interest Group lessons, students can choose from a number of different options based on their own interests and language learning goals. Example options include — Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge); Business English; Group Discussion; Art and Design; Speech and Pronunciation; Academic Writing Skills; etc. The Diploma of Intensive English course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

This Academic Year Abroad option (AYA) can be between 24 and 48 weeks. Each lesson is 50 minutes long. Recommended start dates: First Monday of January, April and September** 2 additional weekly sessions with an LSI teacher. These sessions include language review and support, professional development and college/university application support.* Beginner to Upper Intermediate levels* Max class size: 15 students. Age 16+* Course options: General English Courses, Exam courses, Academic English, Pathways, Business English* Regular testing, academic counselling and assistance with university placementSpend up to a year abroad, achieve a high level of fluency in your chosen language and make new friends from all over the world. ATA and AYA programmes differ from shorter courses at LSI because students receive a greater level of academic support and management, including two additional weekly sessions with a teacher. An individual study plan is designed for you to suit your level, individual aims and the duration of your course. We continue to check your progress with regular meetings to make sure you achieve your aims.

St Giles Brighton offers the International Semester language Course to students wishing to experience British life and study General English for 6 months or longer. Additional modules also available at St Giles Brighton are: Cambridge English, IELTS or TOEFL exam preparation, English for Business, English for Tourism and English for University Studies.

This Compact English Course has 92 individual lessons. It's available for Beginner to advanced levels. 9 consecutive days; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 68 hours 20 minutes; Courses begin: every Saturday; Includes lunchtime lessons with the teacher; Ages: 16 +. For those with exacting needs which must be met in a short space of time. Requiring just one week away from the office, this course is ideal for busy professionals and executives who need to prepare for presentation and meetings abroad. 

This General English language course has 20 Lessons per week (4 lessons per day); 1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 16 hours 40 minutes; 15 students max. per class: Age 16+. During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book and a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines.
