English Courses

CLLC’s Intensive Program gives students a great foundational focus to their English Language education by studying 25 hours per week (33 lessons/week). Students can choose two classes from the primary class options, Reading & Writing, Listening & Speaking, and IELTS Preparation or Business English. CLLC’s Elective Plus One class is also included and gives students the opportunity to focus on additional language skills that are different from their primary classes.

The General ESL Programs at inlingua Victoria College of Languages consists of 6 levels of 10 weeks each. The course is designed for international students seeking practice and improvement in English as a Second Language. As an integrated course, students will focus on speaking, listening, writing and reading, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The Intensive English Language Course consists of 25 weekly lessons that are divided into 20 general English lessons + 3 optional workshops + 2 additional free-choice specific English lessons. A characteristic of this school is its personal treatment, since, according to the results of your level exam, you will receive a learning program adapted to your learning objectives.

The Compact Course offers 20 lessons (15 hours) of general English lessons per week in the UK. Lessons will improve all your key skills at a consistent rate: reading, writing, listening, speaking. You will be assigned to your general English class based on your current Kings Level. We have classes suitable for students at Level 1 (Beginner) right through to Level 8 (Advanced), and you will progress up through the levels as your skills improve and your confidence grows. The Compact Course is available year-round with weekly start dates, and is suitable for students of all English levels.

This English language course prepares students with the skills and strategies they need to make the transition to college and university courses in the English language and other secondary school disciplines. Students are encouraged to develop independence in a range of academic tasks. They will participate in seminars, lead classroom workshops; read and interpret a range of academic texts; take effective notes during lectures and class discussions; write essays, narratives, and reports; and apply a range of learning strategies and research skills effectively.

This General English language course provides effective training for students who need English for work, study or travel. Experienced teachers use a course book and supplementary material to help students produce and practice the four language skills. The aim of this course is to help participants to communicate, and emphasis is placed on encouraging fluency and confidence in the English language. The timetable will vary depending on your level.

Students join the Standard Course in General English which allows them to practice all the language skills. The Intensive Course offers 10 additional lessons which are devoted to speaking, where students wishing to focus on improving their oral fluency can discuss and debate a wide range of topics. The aim of this course is to help students to communicate, and emphasis is placed on encouraging their fluency and confidence in using the English language. Lessons may be held in the morning or in the afternoon.

The Intensive General English Language evening course focuses on improving your all-round English and in particular your communication skills. Our focus is on students interacting and communicating with each other and getting you to use the language you learn to make you more fluent and confident in English. Evening classes are a popular choice with students who are working during the day. Our city centre location, directly opposite the train station, makes it easy for students to travel between work and school.
