English Courses

Our ESL classes are based on a unique UMC Model that maximizes student-teacher interaction and communicative learning when studying English. Designed and created in UMC, our unique techniques and activities used in the classroom are designed to develop both fluency AND accuracy with the ultimate goal of language production. Each lesson is allocated to different skills such as listening strategies, vocabulary development, reading, writing skills, pronunciation, fluency improvement and so on. That maximizes our 4-week terms and allows you to focus on the core skills you need to become proficient. UMC has official start dates every 4 weeks in Toronto.

This General English language course is made up of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week including the General English classes. It also allows you to personalise your course by taking 10 lessons per week across a wide selection of Special Focus options.

CLLC’s Accelerated Program gives students an opportunity to complete their levels more quickly than the Intensive program. Students will study General English and IELTS Preparation for 35 hours per week (46 lessons/week). Students study our primary classes of Reading & Writing, Listening & Speaking in addition to IELTS Preparation. CLLC’s Elective Plus One class is also included and gives students the opportunity to focus on additional language skills that are different from their primary classes.

Learn English for life! Our most popular English Language Course! This class focuses on real everyday English so that you can communicate with confidence. Ideal for those seeking to improve their English skills while enjoying free time to participate in our excursions and extra activities. In addition to developing core skills, this course provides students with pronunciation and grammar support, plus vocabulary improvement.

This General English language course has 30 Lessons per week.15 students maximum; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 25 hours; Age 16+. The LSI Intensive 30 course concentrates on all the areas that you need to achieve much greater fluency in a short period of time. This course is suitable for students who wish to study intensively and get a well-rounded insight into the language and country. Students on the LSI Intensive 30 course study the same lessons as described for General 20 in the morning. During the afternoon there are a range of electives to suit all levels, needs and interests. Our English language Academic Year courses in Kaplan Vancouver are nine-month English courses that aim to take you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. This course has 20 hours of classes per week. Immerse yourself in the English language, and spend a year studying and getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by our exclusive and specially designed study materials.

With this programme, you will develop fluency, accuracy and appropriate uses of English across all four language skills. You will benefit from excellent guidance, monitoring and feedback throughout this course. Taking the time to seriously focus on your English will open up unlimited opportunities for you. This programme is for students who study for 24 weeks or more.

ILSC offers a wide range of courses. You can take any combination you wish, depending on your interests, goals, language level and schedule. Most courses are offered at many different levels and last four weeks.

For students wanting to brush up their English skills for travelling, employment or to work towards a placement in one of our academic programs or Certificate or Diploma courses, our General English course is designed to get results. We understand that every english student comes to Australia with unique goals, plans and learning needs. Lexis 360° is our student care program designed to ensure that all Lexis students receive individual support and attention, initiating the most successful study experience possible. General English Full-Time is CRICOS registered and consists of a minimum of 20 hours per week with an additional 5 hours per week of Guided Individual Learning (GIL).
