Our Intensive English program offers a fast, enjoyable and effective way to improve your English language skills, whatever your current language level. You have the opportunity to customize your course with specific skills lessons, including business English and exam preparation. The course allows you to quickly achieve English fluency and learn grammar and vocabulary that will be useful in every day English. You can study for as long as you need to, and by doing so will improve your opportunities in future academic and professional endeavours.

The Intensive General English Course is suitable for students who want to maximise on work carried out in the Standard Course. This course takes place all year round. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course from Monday to Friday (09.30 -13.00 in the UK). There are also three afternoon lessons a week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (14.00 -16.30 in the UK or 14.00-16.00 in Ireland) which are focused on improving the students’ speaking skills and ability to communicate through English. In the afternoon lessons, students have the opportunity to improve their communicative proficiency through discussions, topical debates, authentic materials and use of portable and static technology. Course content is partly negotiated and partly based on TED lectures.

This General English language course is only available to students studying in the USA or Canada. You get 24 lessons (18 hours) per week of General English including four lessons per week in your choice of Special Focus study. Your confidence will improve as we train you in all four communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

In the Intensive Spanish Course of 25 lessons per week, the students will be using a communicative methodology, this course provides rapid improvement while immersing you in the Spanish language. The objective of this Spanish course is for you to be able to communicate and take your Spanish into real-world situations.

Apart from the 20 L/W of General English that students have, with this option the choice of two electives is available. There are electives suitable for each level, some of the options are: pronunciation, grammar, speaking, English for business, critical response, English for public speaking, English for social media...

Learn Turkish five days a week for 3 lessons per day and have the rest of the day off! Our classroom sizes will not be more than 5 students and we will provide all language levels, from beginners to advanced. To be able to offer you a Turkish course of your level and ability, we will ask you to complete a small diagnostic / placement test in advance. Daily Schedule 09:00-11:35 or 13:30-16:05.

The Standard French Language course consists of 20 lessons per week of group instruction. Teachers focus on an interactive teaching method with the goals of expanding the students' vocabulary and knowledge of French culture and civilization; broadening his or her familiarity with grammar and its structures, as well as written expression of the French language; improving oral expression through group discussions, reading comprehension through the analysis and discussion of authentic documents and listening comprehension. Note that during the summer high season, some Intensive and Standard courses are only available in the afternoon. The General English + One-to-One course is designed to give you a mix of group classes and 1:1 lessons where you can focus on your specific language needs. You study on the core morning programme of the General English course in a mixed-national class at your level for 20 lessons per week. You can then study 5 individual lessons per week with a teacher who will design a study programme based your specific needs.

This English language course from VanWest Vancouver is based on an integrated skill curriculum, morning classes will teach you specific strategies to improve your English language. This English language course will build students’ understanding of the basic grammar, vocabulary, and functions of the English language. This course allows taking 2 extra lessons daily than a standard General English Course.
