English Courses

The intensive English language courses that we develop at CCEB last 5 hours a day where students work 4 hours with our teachers and 1 hour of self-study or activities like Yoga, conversation, cooking, etc. For developing skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar. There are levels from beginner to advanced.

Our General English Language courses aim to improve every aspect of your English so that you can communicate effectively with speakers from across the globe. Our approach is to provide a stimulating and highly interactive environment in which you can develop your language skills. Lesson content concentrates on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Every week you will work on developing and improving all language skill areas, with a focus on active communication in real life situations. You will also be given regular homework and weekly tests to check your progress. The 4 daily classes of 60 minutes will take place in the time slots that are detailed below. The exact timetable is assigned on the first day of class, depending on your level: Mornings: 9:30 - 12:45 and Afternoons: 14.00 - 17:15.

St Giles Vancouver offers the International Semester Course to students wishing to experience Canadian life and study General English for 6 months or longer. Additional modules also available at St Giles Vancouver are: Cambridge English, IELTS, TOEFL or TOEIC exam preparation, and English for Business.

On the General English 20 Course, you attend a core of 20 lessons per week (15 hours), which will give you a practical understanding of the English language and take you all the way to fluency. Our ‘English in Action’ surfing program allows you to combine part-time General English Language with surfing lessons from the best local instructors. Even if you have never surfed before, you’ll be catching a wave by the end of your first lesson and within a few weeks you’ll be surfing with the locals, your classmates and maybe even one or two of your teachers. The ‘English in Action – Surfing’ course includes: • Part-time General English • Pick up and drop off transfers between school and the beach • All equipment • Two- hour surfing lesson, four afternoons per week Just bring your own towel, swimmers, sunscreen and your get-up-and-go energy!
