The programme provides a language enrichment component designed to improve the participants’ knowledge and use of English, including vocabulary, grammatical knowledge, functional knowledge and pronunciation. There is a focus on current methodologies and practical teaching skills, with material taken from the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) preparation course. Students have the option to take the TKT exam at the end of the course in order to obtain an official Cambridge certificate.

CELTA is an internationally recognised teaching qualification, accepted by organisations which employ English language teachers. It is highly regarded and gives trainees the skills required for English teaching positions throughout the world. The course is suitable for people who want to start a career in English language teaching or who are already teaching English with no formal qualification. Teacher Training - Creative Methodology (APP-CM5)This shorter 5-day course sets out to cover the main content of the full 10-day programme, with less time spent on the practical element. A wide range of ideas will be explored, creating a forum for experienced classroom practitioners to share and discuss teaching in the modern age. The Methodology and Language Development course in Dublin combines the latest in best practice in general pedagogy with the utilisation of practical online tools for education. It will give participants both a refresher in the areas of lesson planning, classroom management, and content knowledge, as well as introducing some innovations in practice which can be integrated the current context. This course is designed for teachers who are looking to upskill in a number of areas. Teachers who are looking for a revision of best practice, or who are looking for some new ideas in traditional settings will gain from this course, as will teachers who are looking at learning more about the use of technology both in and outside the classroom.

This course is intended for non-native teachers of other subjects who wish to develop their own English language skills. It is specifically aimed at teachers of other subjects, who have to teach their subjects through English.

Any of the Delta modules can be taken separately. Even if you have already completed a module with another school, you can study your remaining modules with IH London. Before your course starts you will be asked to complete Delta Preparation Tasks and readings.
